Two-Day Conference on Bharatiya Bhasha Pariwar | EFLU Shillong
A two-day Conference on Bharatiya Bhasha Pariwar was jointly organised by the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Regional Campus, Shillong, and the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, on 29–30 January 2026 at the EFLU Shillong Campus.
The Inaugural Programme was presided over by Prof. N. Nagaraju, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, EFLU (Hyderabad, Shillong & Lucknow). The programme was graced by Padmashree Shri Chamu Krishna Shastry Ji as Distinguished Guest, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Gauhati University, as Chief Guest, and Dr. B. D. R. Tiwari, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government, Elections Department and Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya, as Guest of Honour.
The Conference was the launch of two scholarly volumes by Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti: Collected Studies on Bharatiya Bhasha Pariwar: Perspectives and Horizons and Bharatiya Bhasha Pariwar: A New Framework in Linguistics.
The Conference featured seven distinguished lectures by scholars from Shillong and across the country and witnessed the active participation of faculty members, students, and research scholars.
