That’s why I mentioned career progression. If docs practise defensive medicine bc of fear of the GMC that’s for them to decide. My point was about litigation

Personally I think aspects of The System, in both sectors, can have a detrimental effect on this also ‘I ticked all the boxes but didn’t listen to what patient described or why’ sort of idea

Many factors deter pts from commencing or continuing legal action against the med profn inc: cost, speed, the length of time it can take to be resolved, difficulties in obtaining evidence such as pt notes, the very high evidential bar and the trauma of reliving their experience

I didn’t say it bailed them out, it pays compensation. I understand that having a major settlement against a doc’s name may not be good for their reputation or career prospects. What I was trying to say is I think the fear of litigation is not well-founded - for many reasons

I'm not at all sure abt @NHSResolution bailing them out. 67% of @rcgp GPs are fearful of being sued by patients.1 Of those, 85% feel that the fear of being sued impacts on the way they practise. medicalprotection.org/docs/m… via @MPS_Medical

I think that is a fair warning. “Mediation” and “lessons learned” can become institutional language that hides harm rather than exposes it.

ZHH The paper did reference an @NHSResolution report on the “mediation” they deploy; I’ll read it.

⚖️ Another day, another NHS sex/gender policy collapsing under legal scrutiny. 🗣️Staff warned @NHSEngland for years that replacing sex with gender breached the Equality Act and discriminated against women. They didn’t listen. Instead, staff were silenced, smeared, or sidelined for raising lawful concerns. ❌ For two years, we have flagged these issues directly to NHS England. They chose not to engage and used public funds to defend policies that discriminate against women. 📉 Across the country, Trusts have told us: “We’re following NHS England.” You may want to rethink that as your defence for retaining unlawful policy. Success! Thank you all for your support! I have been reading through the judgement feeling a mixture of relief, overwhelm and incredible jubilation.

There will be cases such as these in the UK. .@DHSCgovuk @NHSEngland @NHSResolution had better have HUGE reserves to cover the bills. @MPS_Medical @the_mdu @MDDUS_News
2nd detrans' lawsuit ( of approx 30 active cases in US) settled days before going to court Camille Kiefel’s lawsuit, alleged that her healthcare providers failed to properly screen her for mental health issues before approving her for irreversible surgery. @SeanFraserMP

.@DHSCgovuk @NHSEngland @NHSResolution Are you paying attention? Cross sex interventions only harm. This is going to be a catastrophic burden on the public purse. Stop cross sex hormones NOW 🛑 Stop removing healthy body parts NOW🛑
SCOOP: Detransitioner Settles Malpractice Lawsuit Days Before Trial In Oregon open.substack.com/pub/benrya… Camille Kiefel sued the two Oregon mental-health professionals who each, she alleged, effectively rubber-stamped for her a referral letter for a mastectomy after a single telehealth appointment.

The NHS still doesn’t have single sex wards. It still allows self ID and its chaperone and single sex care policies are not clear. Sex is not a choice. @NHSEngland @NHSResolution @DHSCgovuk
We have always been, and continue to be, so grateful for all the people who support us and speak out on these issues ❤️ telegraph.co.uk/opinion/2026…

We need that guidance. @NHSEngland is not following the law, deliberately using self id as policy instead of sex based facilities and even chaperones. How much financial risk is @NHSResolution exposed to?
I now know what peak rage feels like. The jaw dropping cynicism it takes to deliberately sit on the EHRC Guidance for 221 days, not to mention 363 days since the ruling, and then publish this garbage to hold things at bay until after the May Elections, takes absolving yourself of the responsibility to protect the rights of women and girls to stratespheric levels. This Government holds us in complete contempt. questions-statements.parliam…

Let’s talk about @NHSResolution A bereaved mother’s words highlight something we cannot ignore: the harm families experience doesn’t end with the original event. At a time when mothers, fathers, partners and families should be given the space to grieve, to heal, and to begin rebuilding their lives, too many instead encounter systems that deepen their suffering and complicate their path to recovery. That must change. @MatNeoInv
