A4: Our team works closely with our technical partners @opendatacoop as well as a range of organisations including @open_sanctions @ocdata @Linkurious @GLEIF @ICIJorg @senzing and more to create projects which showcase the value and usefulness of standardised, interoperable BO data especially when it can be used to expose hidden relationships between beneficial owners, politicians, sanction targets, and networks of companies.

Only around 20% of the UK's procurement awards records include @CompaniesHouse registration numbers
The availability of reliable identifiers for companies and other corporate vehicles in beneficial ownership datasets is crucial for connecting them with other information but @OpenOwnership's BODS risk detection project found that only 1/5 of the awards records in UK's @ocdata contained company identifiers github.com/openownership/bod…
This reinforces the recommendations from @opencontracting @opendatacoop about why the UK Procurement Bill should be clarified to make sure these identifiers should be collected and published docs.google.com/document/d/1…

Use case 1: Learning which companies have been awarded public contracts
By combining @OpenOwnership’s high-quality beneficial ownership and @ocdata’s public procurement data from @ocdata/@GovTranspInst, we can look for a target individual or entity and find any companies that they own or control (directly or indirectly) which have been awarded public contracts. This can bring greater visibility and transparency over larger corporate groups in terms of their reliance on public procurement.
