Some of you are struggling, let me help you out:
So, the article reads: “Last month at Yale, the influential political blogger Curtis Yarvin, in a debate against Free Press contributor Jed Rubenfeld, argued that America ought to "end the democratic experiment" —and establish a monarchy.”
So what? I argue that I ought to be at The Met Gala in 2026. But just because I think that something ought to happen, that doesn’t mean it will.
You’d also have to be a dumbass to read this and be triggered whatsoever. If you don’t know why, start by acquiring a foundational understanding of the systems and processes of government then circle back when you understand what that legal process would look like and how long it would take (it’s never happening).
But also, relax on the intolerance for spirited debate on a wild topic. This is what happens in free countries. People say wild shit and debate ideas.
Also, this is old news, my mutual
@OpentoDebateOrg held a debate with him on this:
“Should the U.S. Be Ruled by a CEO Dictator? Arguing yes, self-described monarchist
@curtis_yarvin believes that modern democracy has failed and the “Dictator CEO” is the best route for governance.
Economist
@glenweyl disagrees. He acknowledges that “democracies are in crisis,” but says they have consistently outperformed autocracies and can be improved.
Watch this critical debate and let us know where you stand.”
Notably, Opentodebate rebranded and used to be the Intelligence Squared Debates podcast, which was my fave podcast. But I digress.
2) You’re also dumb as hell if you think “biologically suited” would trigger me. I don’t give a fuck about people’s opinions on that stuff, people have a right to their opinions, and I don’t have to agree with them. My sole qualms on that relate to official government actions incompatible with the constitution and other federal statutes. But that’s a legal/courts matter being dealt with.
Context from the Article: “Yarvin has noted that Donald Trump is ‘biologically suited’ to be America's monarch. The ideas may sound extreme, but they have been influential. J.D. Vance describes Yarvin as ‘a friend,’ and has cited his work.”
😂 How horrifying, the Vice President with the South Asian Hindu wife has friends. Also, “biological suited” here given JD is in an interracial relationship is hilarious, you know why. Doesn’t work.
3) Only dumbasses get triggered by terms like “Techno-authoritarianism.” Also, I don’t know what Dark Enlightenment means but TBH sounds sexy and intriguing.
4) I’m not religious. I’m not an atheist, I’d say that I’m agnostic. But I try to respect religious beliefs as I grew up in Church. My grandfather (below) is super Conservative, super Christian, super loving and super MAGA.
He’s also super successful and back when he owned a bunch of radio stations and was on the bank board of directors, I was a baby and then super young.
While some of Cape Cod “society” likely had slick shit to say given I was basically the Cape’s “diversity” 😭 (overall everyone was amazing) and the first one on that side of my family with partial African Ancestry, he didn’t give a fuck and brought me to meetings and all kinds of business stuff, he would have fired and ended careers if anyone was bigoted towards me for my partial African Ancestry.
So “big bad christian MAGA conservative” doesn’t scare me and in fact maybe some of you Dems/Nazi aligned et al., should be less racist—of course you champion DEI as a beard 🙄— and adopt the Christian MAGA Conservative Values and morals of the aforementioned.
Well, the only thing is the only time my grandfather ever yelled in front of me is when I came home from school with my science project on Evolution. I had to BEG him not to send me to private school as he was pissed we were learning evolution— but I was already at a great school, wanted to keep on with science & loved my friends. That is to say, R’s could go about some science differently IMO.
Modernity is more meaningful and moral than medieval Christendom. Un-paywalled link to my article with Marian on the bizarre beliefs of the NeoReactionary Theocratic National Conservative Right (including our vice-president).
