I think a lot of people in academia would likely say financial instability is an issue unless you have support networks you can rely on (which many do, inc myself, which I'm grateful for, but acknowledge when possible). Too few jobs= competition or issues w/finding jobs together.

Being a working, nursing mom is incomprehensible unless you’ve been there, so here’s some advice from someone who has.
Even (or especially) if you're not pumping, you can push your institution to level up.

Absolutely, we speak many languages here since they were born!
Those kids lived in many countries, but our #Latinxs roots are always with us - Portuguese & Spanish, Dia de los muertos, Frida, Brazilian Bossa Nova...

Definitely! We’re all just trying our best to get through this time in the healthiest and most realistic ways possible. If that means having class interrupted to gush over a little kid’s drawing I will do that! 🤣

When my classmates or professors have their kids or pets on Zoom meetings it makes the experience so much more bearable. One of my classmates’ daughter is always excited to see “Mommy’s school friends” & it makes the day so much better to know someone is that excited to see us😊
