Looking forward to giving a talk at @postgresconf tomorrow! Everyone knows you can use Postgres to make data durable. I’ll talk about how to use it to make your programs durable, so they can survive crashes, restarts and updates without restarting from scratch.

Most teams bolt on 3 separate services - vector DB, queue, state store - when Postgres already has pgvector, LISTEN/NOTIFY, and JSONB. One fewer hop between the agent and its data = one less thing that breaks at 3am. Excited to see the issue triage walkthrough.

Postgres has everything you need to build production AI agents, but most teams are only using a fraction of its capabilities. There's a reason I never implmented monadic groupBy, orderBy etc... in Quill. Had I presented that syntax at something like PostgresConf I would have lost the audience in a millisecond! Had I known how much better direct-style is at capturing the essence of SQL than for-comprehensions, I would have moved to it years ago!
