It's my 2nd time I am reading a book called "CAN'T HURT ME", and I am not gonna lie, it's an incredibly exciting book to read in 2024.
Briefly,
"Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds" is a book by
@davidgoggins, a retired Navy SEAL, ultramarathon runner, and motivational speaker. The book is part memoir, part self-help, and it details Goggins' journey from a challenging childhood to becoming one of the toughest endurance athletes. The main themes of the book include:
1.
#MentalToughness: Developing an unbreakable mindset to push through physical and mental barriers.
2.
#OvercomingAdversity: Turning personal hardships and failures into opportunities for growth.
3.
#SelfDiscipline: Building the discipline necessary to achieve extraordinary goals.
4.
#EmbracingPain: Understanding that discomfort and pain are essential for growth and success.
5.
#Accountability: Holding oneself accountable for achieving one's goals and not making excuses.
In this book, Goggins emphasizes that by mastering your mind and defying the odds, you can achieve more than you ever thought possible.
By this book, I understood well the 40% rule which states that when you feel like youโre completely exhausted and canโt go any further, youโre actually only at 40% of your true potential. This rule suggests that the mind gives up before the body does, and that you have much more in reserve than you think. Itโs a mental model used to push through perceived limits and achieve greater performance by tapping into the remaining 60% of your capabilities.
