🌍 A fruitful participation of the OSC at the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS-2) in Addis Ababa.
Today, Secretary-General
@MBinMussallam joined Heads of State, ministers, and senior policymakers at the Opening Ceremony. The OSC also hosted a panel discussion on Ecological Sovereignty and Southern Agency, in partnership with the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) on Climate Change) and Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA), highlighting the urgency of advancing an Ecologically-Driven Development (EDD) model that unites social justice, climate resilience, and self-determination for the Greater South.
The participation of the OSC set the stage for promoting EDD as a framework for ecologically-driven strategies, while building momentum towards a Southern-led “1.5°C Survival Pact” in the lead-up to COP30 and other global negotiations.
