Dear Reliance General Insurance Team,
I am writing to formally raise a grievance regarding the health insurance policy availed by my father, a retired staff member of Canara Bank, under policy number 131XXXXXXXXXXXXX0004221. My father has always been a responsible policyholder who worked diligently to provide for his family.
On the night of 23rd January 2025, my father underwent emergency brain surgery at Ganga Ram Hospital, Karol Bagh, Delhi, which continued into the morning of 24th January 2025. However, despite the life-threatening nature of this situation, the cashless facility was denied by the insurer, citing an irrelevant and baseless reason regarding a supposed pre-existing history of hypertension.
This denial of cashless coverage has caused immense distress to our family. Over the past three days, we have made repeated calls and sent emails, yet no satisfactory response has been provided by your team. Furthermore, the insurer has failed to send the necessary reports to the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) at Ganga Ram Hospital, as required. This lack of support during such a critical time is deeply disheartening and unacceptable.
To clarify, my father has no history of hypertension and has never undergone any surgery prior to this emergency. The doctors at Ganga Ram Hospital have provided documents confirming this fact, and we are prepared to submit these records if needed. Despite this, your customer care team has refused to share the documents on which their decision regarding the supposed medical history is based.
It is shocking and highly unprofessional that a claim of this magnitude is being delayed without justification. My father is currently on a ventilator, and we urgently require the cashless facility to manage the financial burden of this critical situation.
