I’m so tired of these fear-mongering headlines about cadmium, arsenic, or lead showing up in everyday products. People act like it’s some sinister conspiracy, when these elements are literally pulled from the earth itself. They’re not being secretly added just to poison us. I saw a story the other day about a woman melting down because she just learned there’s cadmium in her lipstick after using it her whole life.🤭 And Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis made national news acting like she uncovered a plot to harm children because of naturally occurring trace toxins in candy. 😂 At some point we need to stop panicking over things that have always been part of the natural world. Not every trace amount is worth losing sleep over. #FearMongering #NaturalToxins #HeavyMetals #CommonSense #StopThePanic #ScienceNotScare

🚫 IF YOU CAN'T SWIM YOU SHOULD NOT DIVE IN THE SEA And if you don't have evidence you should not endeavour into topics that require them... I write this post after another 1 or maybe 2 on a similar topic that I already put on SMs because I red with great interest the Editorial of Prof. McCoullough and Prof. Millman of the JACMP. Here is the link: aapm.onlinelibrary.wiley.com… Following I will elaborate in a mildly funny/sarcastic tone on the claim: “103K cancers a year from CT scans!” from the JAMA Int Med simulation study 1. Mathematical Fiction ≠ Medical Fact JAMA article builds a theoretical empire on a hill made of risk coefficients from BEIR VII — a report extrapolated from survivors of the atomic bombs (AGAIN!!!). That’s right: CT dose (10–20 mGy) vs. atomic blast (hundreds of mGy to Gy)... 🙄 2. No Evidence of Actual Harm The study doesn’t document a single actual cancer caused by a CT. It’s a projection — not an observation. It’s like predicting rain because you see clouds… in someone else’s country... 🙄 3. Reverse Causality: A Classic Misdiagnosis Did the CT scan cause the cancer, or was the CT performed because the pt already had cancer or was highly suspected to? Given that over 80% of high-dose scans were performed in cancer patients... 🙄 4. Longevity Bias Part of these patients were seriously ill. Many survived <2 years. Solid tumors typically need 5–40 years to develop from radiation exposure. But sure, blame the CT scan. 🙄 5. Absolute vs. Relative Risk Projected increase in risk per CT scan ~0.1%. Meanwhile, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will get cancer anyway... 🙄 🔬 What We Actually Do Know ✅ CT improves diagnostic accuracy. ✅ CT reduces unnecessary surgeries. ✅ CT decreases mortality in trauma and cancer. ✅ CT leads to better pt outcomes. The benefits are real, measurable, and lifesaving. 📣 Final Word (with just a hint of sarcasm) If we followed the JAMA logic, we’d stop using CT entirely and go back to the good old days of exploratory surgery and guesswork. Because why bother saving lives when you might — possibly, theoretically, if all stars align — induce a malignancy four decades later in someone who may not live past next Tuesday or even next year? Jokes aside, scaring people with no evidence is very bad and should be sanctioned because (and this is a fact) it gets people sick or killed; this is for the media and the headlines. However, also making studies like these (that we have already seen and criticized many times before) and publishing them in clinical journals is IMHO questionable. CT saves lives, thousands, every day. 🧠 We always use and recommend others to use CT wisely. Optimize dose. Get the diagnosis right!!!! Explain clearly. But don’t let algorithmic risk projections hijack clinical reality. #MedicalImaging #CT #Radiology #RiskVsBenefit #CancerScare #ScienceNotScare #DoseMatters #EvidenceBasedMedicine

BREAKING: CO₂ just called climate’s scapegoat of the century. Turns out this “villain” is actually the planet’s favorite life coach—giving plants the pep talk they need to feed the world. 🌱🍎 CO₂: “I’m just here making photosynthesis happen, supporting every breath you take, and somehow I’m the bad guy? Talk about being framed!” 😂 Next up: blaming sunlight for summer heatwaves? ☀️🔥 #CO2IsNotTheEnemy #PlantPower #ClimateComedy #ScienceNotScare
The climate swindle depends on misleading everyone on earth about CO₂'s amazing life-giving properties - the foundation for photosynthesis, every food chain on earth, all oxygen & every plant & animal alive. CO₂ fell to 180ppm at the last glacial maximum. It's back to 420ppm.

🎓 Judith Curry – A Scientist with a Spine 🌍 While others bow to groupthink, Professor Judith Curry stands tall. One of the world’s leading climate scientists, she’s not afraid to call it: 🧪 “Climate science has become pseudoscience—driven by politics, not inquiry.” 🔥 Exposes the fake “97% consensus” 🌪 Debunks extreme weather hysteria ⚠️ Warns net zero is a costly illusion ⚛️ Backs real solutions: nuclear, infrastructure, resilience She left academia to stay honest. That’s courage. That’s science. 👏 #JudithCurry #ClimateTruth #NetZeroDelusion #ScienceNotScare 🔗 Read: wattsupwiththat.com/2025/06/…
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝘆: 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗱𝗼 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Renowned climatologist Dr. Judith Curry warns that climate science has devolved into pseudoscience, driven by careerism and political pressures rather than open inquiry. She debunks the myth of a 97% consensus, calling it a flawed narrative based on biased surveys that misrepresent scientific agreement. Curry explains that while there's consensus on basic facts like post-19th century warming and CO2's warming potential, deep disagreements persist on key issues: the human contribution to warming, future temperature projections, and whether warming is dangerous. Curry highlights how funding, tenure, and professional advancement are tied to toeing the consensus line, stifling debate and punishing dissenters. She resigned from academia in 2017 due to this "consensus enforcement," which she says creates a toxic environment where scientists must "dance to the same drumbeat" or face marginalization. On extreme weather, Curry asserts there's no evidence of increases beyond natural variability—contrary to media hype. She criticizes climate models for their inability to accurately handle natural factors, leading to exaggerated risks. The demonization of CO2, she argues, stems from a political agenda dating back to the 1980s, pushing unfeasible net-zero policies that distract from real environmental issues. Curry advocates decoupling energy policy from climate alarmism, emphasizing the need for abundant, reliable energy like nuclear power to drive human progress. She notes that pursuing net zero won't yield noticeable climate benefits for centuries and calls for a return to traditional environmental values, such as reducing vulnerability to weather events through better infrastructure. In this interview, Curry exposes how politics has corrupted science, leading to misleading narratives that harm both research and policy. :To read the full article go to wattsupwiththat.com/2025/06/…

🚨 The Women’s Environmental Network (@WEN_UK) and Pesticide Action Network (@PAN_UK) just released a junk study that they did—not peer reviewed, of course—claiming tampons are toxic due to glyphosate. But their own data shows levels of an incredibly tiny 0.0004 mg/kg—which is 4,375× lower than the U.S. EPA safety threshold (1.75 mg/kg) and 25× lower than the EU's EFSA threshold (0.5 mg/kg). This isn’t science—it’s fearmongering. These groups are exploiting women’s health anxieties and pushing disinformation, while journalists repeat their claims without even checking the toxicology. And we’ve seen this playbook before: scare the public, then open the floodgates for a wave of tort lawsuits, with activist groups partnering with trial lawyers as a matter of course to profit off public confusion. @CamiDRyan. #GlyphosateFacts #ScienceNotScare #WEN #PesticideActionNetwork #DisinfoAlert #Scicomm #JunkScience #MediaFail #ToxicTruth #WomenAndScience #HealthFacts #FakeHealthClaims #TortReformNow buff.ly/TB2g0Tw

Big Organic™ isn’t fighting hydroponics over 'soil health'—they’re fighting to protect a $120 billion market built on excluding cheaper, cleaner competition. Their certified organic crops often use 600% more chemical inputs per calorie than conventional crops, hidden by anti-science lobbying. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s heartfelt plea for children with autism is commendable, but let's not forget the irony here. 💙 Kennedy has long pushed the discredited theory that vaccines cause autism, a narrative that has scared countless parents away from protecting their children from deadly diseases. His "emotional statement" must be seen in light of the misinformation he's spread. While his sentiment is noble, the reality is stark: under his influence, vaccination rates have dropped, leading to outbreaks of measles and other preventable diseases. This isn't saving kids; it's endangering them. We need leaders who prioritize science over sensationalism. Trump's administration, through Operation Warp Speed, delivered vaccines that have saved millions, not just from COVID but from the resurgence of old threats like polio. Kennedy's rhetoric has not only misinformed but also stigmatized autism, painting it as a tragedy rather than acknowledging the diversity of human experience. True compassion means supporting all children, neurodiverse or not, with facts, not fear. If Kennedy truly believes in saving kids, he should advocate for comprehensive, evidence-based support for autism, not perpetuate myths that harm public health. The real fight for our children's future is against misinformation, for better education, and for policies that genuinely support families. For a clear-eyed view on these issues and more, follow @FinalTelegraph. Let's champion truth and science for the sake of all our children. #ScienceNotScare #ProtectOurKids #Trump2024
