Parashat Terumah (Exodus 25:1-27:19) 25:2: Tell the Israelite people to bring Me gifts; you shall accept gifts for Me from every person whose heart is so moved. דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְיִקְחוּ־לִ֖י תְּרוּמָ֑ה מֵאֵ֤ת כׇּל־אִישׁ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִדְּבֶ֣נּוּ לִבּ֔וֹ תִּקְח֖וּ אֶת־תְּרוּמָתִֽי Lost in translation? The Hebrew word תרומה (terumah) is rendered as "gifts" – yet "donation" would be more accurate. Terumah means a voluntary offering given with no expectation of return. Does "gifts" capture this selfless nuance? #JewishThought #JewishPhilosophy #Theology #MeaningParashat #HebrewBible #BiblicalHebrew #HebrewLanguage #TextualStudy #Exegesis #CloseReading #bible @bibleverses_evd

Parashat Mishpatim (Exodus 21:1-24:18) 21:3: "If he came single, he shall leave single" | אִם־בְּגַפּ֥וֹ יָבֹ֖א בְּגַפּ֣וֹ יֵצֵ֑א אִם־בַּ֤עַל אִשָּׁה֙ ה֔וּא וְיָצְאָ֥ה אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ עִמּֽוֹ Lost in translation? The word בְּגָפּוֹ (be-ga-po), translated here as 'single', appears 3 times in this Parasha. How interesting it is that the Hebrew word 'body' (גוף; guf) shares the same root with 'by himself/single (בְּגָפּוֹ). Luke 4:44 Galilee or Judea? So he traveled all through the Galil, preaching in their synagogues and expelling demons. — Mark 1:39 CJB biblegateway.com/passage/?se… Parallel to Mark 1:39… He also spent time preaching in the synagogues of Y’hudah. — Luke 4:44 CJB biblegateway.com/passage/?se… Conflict! NOTE: “Galilee” is an English translation of “Galil“ and “Judea” is an English translation for “Y’hudah”. biblegateway.com/verse/en/Lu… The AMP Bible is quite slick on this! And He continued to preach in the synagogues of Galilee. — Luke 4:44 MSB biblehub.com/msb/luke/4.htm#… Correct! We see in Psalms 4:4 and Ephesians 4:26 we can get angry, with righteous anger, “WITH CAUSE”. Yeshua got angry with His Disciples, and, well in regards to Yeshua driving out the Den Of Thieves from The Temple with a whip and turning over tables, He wasn’t a happy camper to say the least! The term “Without Cause” is a common term used in the Hebraic[-related] Scriptures … consider many translations over a long history for Matthew 5:22 … EMPHASIS MINE … > But I say to you, anyone who is angry with his brother WITHOUT A CAUSE[a] will be subject to punishment. And whoever says to his brother ‘Raka!’ will be subject to the Council. And whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to hell fire. (ISV) biblegateway.com/passage/?se… This is one of the translations that does not have the clause “WITHOUT [A] CAUSE” … > But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be answerable to the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be answerable to the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. (NASB) biblegateway.com/passage/?se… The text there would have Yeshua as being subjected to the Sanhedrin and condemned! Intolerable! He wouldn’t contradict Himself. Of course, the same Bibles also make it look that way on John 7:8, by lacking the word “yet” (i.e. “not YET”), or something compatible. You can see the different translations of which ones have the clause, and which ones that don’t, using the PARALLEL features of various Bible sites, e.g. biblegateway.com/verse/en/Ma… biblehub.com/matthew/5-22.ht… biblehub.com/parallel/matthe… With such differences, when footnoted, it would be wise for teachers, preachers, speakers, writers, etc. to inform the readers / listeners of such, which can help others avoid abusing the difference(s). #Bible #Scripture #TextualCriticism #TextualStudy #Matthew5 #John7 #Yeshua #Messianic #Nazarene #TheWay #Disciples #Apostles #Saints

The Greek MSS (at least most of them), are erroneous and contradictory for Matthew 6:13 against James 1:13, by using the word 'temptation' instead of 'trial'… thankfully, the World does not revolve around Greek, it revolves with the World. 👍🏻 The 2 attached photos are translations not based exclusively on the Greek, so doesn’t contain the error here in v13 – NO CONTRADICTION in those, and the same goes here in TS (The Scriptures) which does use Greek but uses the correct non-Greek ‘trial’ nonetheless: my.bible.com/bible/316/MAT.6… James 1:13-14, which shows The Heavenly Father does NOT 'tempt' us saints or lead His people into “temptation,” but He does test and prove them. Please Cp. also Deuteronomy 13:3 and Job 1:7-12. The Syriac Peshitta Aramaic does not contain the error of swapping the word 'trial' for the word 'temptation'. Please Cp. this passage with, which uses the word 'testing' – NO CONTRADICTION here: theholyaramaicscriptures.wee… #Matthew6 #Prayer #TextualStudy #TextualCriticism #Scripture #Bible #Messianic #Netzari #Disciples
