Together with Puerto Rico’s Energy Czar and Executive Director of the Public-Private Partnerships Authority (P3), Eng. Josué Colón, we provided Members of Congress with an update on the significant progress made in stabilizing and transforming Puerto Rico’s electric power system.
🤝 Close collaboration with our federal partners, including FEMA, DOE, EPA, USACE, and HUD.
💡 Critical repairs to the electrical infrastructure have restored nearly 1,660 MW of generation capacity, added 530 MW of battery energy storage, and increased reserve capacity to strengthen grid reliability and improve service resilience.
📌 We remain committed to holding LUMA accountable and are moving forward with efforts to terminate a contract that has failed to prioritize the well-being of the people of Puerto Rico. Our goal is to replace it with an experienced private operator capable of delivering the reliable service Puerto Ricans deserve. The federal funds secured through Congress must be managed responsibly, efficiently, and with full accountability.
