Dear Uber Support Team,
I am writing to report a fare discrepancy issue that I faced during an Uber Auto ride booked on 29 December.
At the time of booking, the estimated fare displayed was around ₹260–₹265 (I am not exactly sure of the precise amount). However, after the trip ended, the auto driver informed me that the final fare was ₹347, which is a significant and unexpected increase.
On that day, I was unable to access my Uber account properly. I am not sure of the exact reason, but it appeared to be due to a technical glitch, as whenever I tried to open my wallet or access my inbox, the app would repeatedly show an error or fail to load. The same glitch occurred after the ride was completed, when I attempted to check the final fare in the app. Because of this issue, I was unable to verify the final fare at that time.
I questioned the driver twice to confirm whether ₹347 was for the same ride, and he confirmed that it was. Since I was running late, I proceeded with the payment. Fortunately, I paid via Google Pay, so I have online proof of payment, which clearly shows the driver’s details (Auto driver name: Anil Pal).
After this incident, I contacted Uber Support multiple times and requested a call-back so that I could explain the complete situation clearly. I have also attached screenshots of my chats with the support team. However, without fully understanding my concern, I was repeatedly issued a refund of ₹38, which does not address the core issue or explain how the final fare increased so drastically.
I am extremely disheartened and disappointed by this experience. I kindly request you to connect with me over a call so that I can explain the complete incident properly and receive a fair and appropriate resolution.
