A BANKER DIES. AND SUDDENLY UNIONS BECOME SILENCE MANAGERS ❗️ This screenshot as received says more than any official statement ever will. Instead of roaring for justice, some so called union faces inside UPGB are allegedly busy cooling anger, controlling conversations, and quietly helping the system move on as if nothing happened. Management protecting itself was expected but unions behaving like shock absorbers for management pressure is the real betrayal bankers are watching today. ❌ No protest. ❌ No collective outrage. ❌ No fearless demand for truth. ❗️ Only whispers, adjustments, and desperate attempts to normalise the abnormal. Bankers are not fools anymore. They can clearly see who stands with the staff and who stands in front of management hoping for the next chair, the next favour, the next comfortable posting. A life ends and suddenly union courage also disappears? Or was that courage always just a stage performance? History will not remember speeches from union stages. This fear. नेतृत्व या समझौता? बैंकर की मौत पर भी यूनियनों की चुप्पी और सफाई क्यों ❓ UPGB में एक बैंकर #Chetan_Tiwari मैनेजमेंट की टारगेट और प्रेशर की बलि चढ़ गया लेकिन किसी को कोई फ़र्क नहीं पड़ा। आम बैंकर्स गुस्से और हताशा में है जबकि यूनियन के चाटुकार नेता बिल में दुबके हुए है। सवाल सिर्फ प्रबंधन से नहीं बल्कि सीधे यूनियन नेताओं से है। एक युवा बैंकर प्रेशर में अपनी जान गंवा देता है जिससे पूरा स्टाफ सदमे में है और अंदर ही अंदर टूट रहा हैं लेकिन UPGB की 30 से ज्यादा यूनियन और उनके बड़े बड़े नेता या तो चुप हैं या फिर इसे सामान्य बताने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। कुछ नेताओं ने तो प्रबंधन से भी ज्यादा तेजी दिखाते हुए मामले को हल्का बताने और सवाल दबाने की कोशिश की। ये नेतृत्व है या अपने जमीर को बेच देना? न कोई कड़ा पत्र। न कोई जोरदार विरोध। न कोई संयुक्त आक्रोश। न कोई मांग कि स्वतंत्र जांच हो। मंचों पर भाषण देने वाले आज खामोश क्यों हैं? हर मुद्दे पर बयान देने वाले आज शब्द क्यों भूल गए? अपने को सूरमा समझने वाले लोग आज कायर क्यो बने हुए है या सच ये है कि कुर्सियाँ बचाना ज्यादा जरूरी है, और एक बैंकर की जिंदगी सिर्फ एक खबर बनकर रह गई? जब फोटो चाहिए होते हैं, नेता सबसे आगे। जब पद चाहिए होते हैं, नेता सबसे आगे। जब चेयरमैन को गुलदस्ते देना हो तो नेता सबसे आगे। लेकिन जब एक बैंकर मरता है तो ये सारे नेता या तो गायब हो जाते हैं या फिर दर्द को “नॉर्मल” बताकर खत्म करने की कोशिश करते हैं। शायद आप भूल गए हो लेकिन याद दिलाना जरूरी है कि जब ये चेयरमैन आए तो सारे नेता (चाहे किसी भी यूनियन के हो)उन्हें गुलदस्ते देने पहुचे लेकिन आज जब सवाल पूछने की बारी आई तो सब शांत। सच तो ये है कि आज आम स्टाफ जितनी हिम्मत दिखा रहा है उतनी इन तथाकथित बड़े नेताओं में नजर नहीं आ रही। अगर एक मौत भी यूनियन नेताओं को झकझोर नहीं सकती तो फिर बैंकरों को सोचना पड़ेगा कि ये नेतृत्व है या सिर्फ अपनी पोस्टिंग, अपना आराम और नाम और कुर्सी का खेल। यह राजनीति नहीं है। यह बयानबाजी नहीं है। यह एक इंसान की जिंदगी है और एक सिस्टम है जो लोगों को अंदर से तोड़ रहा है। आज बैंकर खुद को अकेला महसूस कर रहे हैं। सिर्फ प्रबंधन से नहीं बल्कि उन नेताओं से भी, जिन्होंने सुरक्षा का वादा किया था। याद रखिए बैंकर सब देख रहे हैं। ये सब सब याद रखेंगे। और आने वाला समय तय करेगा कौन सच में नेता था और कौन सिर्फ पद के लिए मैनेजमेंट का पालतू कुत्ता बना हुआ था। जिस गर्त में इस समय UPGB की यूनियंस है इससे अधिक नीचे गिरना संभव नहीं है और सबसे बड़ी बात कि इन लोगो को शर्म भी नहीं आती। आज बैंक के ग्रुप्स में लोग इन्हें खुलकर कोस रहे है और खुलकर सवाल पूछ रहे है लेकिन किसी नेता में इतनी हिम्मत नहीं है कि कोई आगे आकर जवाब दे और स्टाफ को भरोसा दे। ऐसा लगता है कि यूपीजीबी में तो यूनियन को बेचने के साथ साथ इन नेताओ में चेयरमैन के हाथो अपना जमीर और आत्माएं भी बेच दी है। #UPGB #UnionAccountability #BankingStress #BankEmployees #StopTargetPressure

The reported behavior, if accurate, represents a profound betrayal of the core principles of any union or democratic body: solidarity, respect for members, and the defense of free expression—even for those with whom we disagree. Celebrating violence against any individual for their speech isn’t activism—it’s authoritarianism. It undermines not only the credibility of the union but the safety of its members. A leader who glorifies violence has no place representing students or any community. After the recent Supreme Court judgment on taxing concessional interest rates, @canarabank has started informing employees about the additional tax to be deducted from their salaries. This has come as a shock to employees already struggling with stagnant wages and rising costs of living. While the so-called ‘majority union’-the one enjoying the lion’s share of membership subscriptions-remains a silent spectator, a minority union is actively engaging with the management to demand that the bank bears this additional burden instead of passing it on to employees. The irony ? The majority union, rather than taking proactive steps, has reportedly prepared a draft message to glorify themselves if a positive outcome is achieved-an outcome they have contributed nothing toward. This shameless opportunism perfectly illustrates their true priorities: enjoying the hard-earned money of members without offering any genuine representation or action. AS A PART-TIME instructor at a Canadian university I am required to pay “membership” dues to a CUPE local. I AM SICKENED that any portion of my labour is “taxed” by force of law to enrich an organization that publicly advances, even celebrates, anti-semitism, murder and terror.
