I got tired of using the SQL console and built my own DB GUI in Ruby with Glimmer DSL for LibUI to more conveniently query data in my Rails web application as the GUI remembers my last DB connection details and auto-connects on startup. It supports PostgreSQL as a start. Seeing SQL results in a GUI Table helps me compare different rows much more effectively as everything lines up, let alone, Glimmer DSL for LibUI gives me free in-memory sorting support out of the box, which can be handy. The Kuiq desktop app for Sidekiq really helped me out in troubleshooting a Rails app issue locally and resolving today: github.com/mperham/kuiq It was created by the Sidekiq project owner, Mike Perham, right after he attended my #RubyConf2023 "How To Build Desktop Applications in Ruby" 2-hour workshop last year. He pinged me at the conference shortly after he created the initial app in #Ruby and had me collaborate with him on building the rest of its features.
