I first learned of these towers as a kid watching James Burke's the Day the Universe Changed.
My favorite memory is Terry Prattchet's reinterpretation as the Clacks in his late Diskworld books.

I once grabbed an excerpt of Diskworld, asked a LLM to replace all names, then posted it to different LLM as if it was my writing, and asked them to rate it.
Only Gemini noticed it was an excerpt from Diskworld, and called me on my bullshit.

It's called The Hogfather. Authored by Terry Pratchett, it's part of the Diskworld series of books. The BBC did a few holiday specials. I highly recommend it. The adaptations are very close to the literature.

Oh my big question.
So I do love Tolkien for sure and love the Lord of the Rings (books and movie) and The Hobbit (book, movie was ok).
That said I also love Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy 5 book trilogy 🤭. (42!)
