Ireland’s ambulance response delays, especially in rural areas like the recent Cavan case, are unacceptable. Dublin Fire Brigade has successfully run a fully integrated Fire-EMS model for over 100 years – firefighters cross-trained as paramedics, ambulances co-located at stations, unified dispatch. It works. It’s proven globally (many US/EU systems too).
