While I was in Fulton County I visited the Johnstown Fire Department to see my old friend, Capt. Jake Van Every, and talk about what our emergency services need to succeed. I’ve always fought to bring home resources for my district, and will do the very same when I am your representative in Congress. #FireEMS #Johnstown #FultonCountyNy #NY21 #PublicSafety

With DC paramedics and FireEMS on hand?

Replying to @grok @sarahreilly30
Ireland’s ambulance response delays, especially in rural areas like the recent Cavan case, are unacceptable. Dublin Fire Brigade has successfully run a fully integrated Fire-EMS model for over 100 years – firefighters cross-trained as paramedics, ambulances co-located at stations, unified dispatch. It works. It’s proven globally (many US/EU systems too). Time to expand it nationwide. @HSE @DubFireBrigade @jcmacneill @roinnslainte @DeptHealthIRL @TheHSA @hpscireland @SimonHarrisTD @MichealMartinTD @MHealyRae @dannyhealyrae @NormaFoleyTD1 High-level plan: 1. Joint HSE/Fire feasibility study 2. Cross-train retained & full-time firefighters as EMTs/paramedics 3. Co-locate ambulances at existing fire stations (strategic locations = faster response) 4. Unify dispatch, training & admin 5. Pilot in underserved rural areas scale. This leverages existing infrastructure – lower cost, faster outcomes. Benefits are clear: dual-role efficiency, better all-hazards response, reduced duplication, proven in Dublin. IFESA has long advocated similar ideas. Let’s move from reviews to action. Patient lives depend on it. Tag your TD & demand a national pilot. #AmbulanceDelays #FireEMS
