🔈The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, in coordination with the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), has launched the executive procedures to commence the completion works of the Atchaneh–Ain Aalak section of the Metn Expressway, extending approximately two kilometers. This follows the Cabinet’s decision, in its session held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, to transfer USD 2 million from the Ministry’s budget to the CDR to cover the project’s implementation costs. 🔹 In its statement, the Ministry explained that the project aims to complete this vital segment of the Metn Expressway, which connects the towns of Mar Chaaya, Atchaneh, and Ain Aalak to the Antelias–Bkfaya road. The project will help ease traffic congestion within Atchaneh, improve traffic flow, and enhance road safety. It also includes the construction of a main interchange and an underpass to facilitate safe movement in all directions and prevent accidents. 🔹 The Ministry added that part of the works on this section had been carried out between 2015 and 2018 but later stopped due to a lack of financial allocations.
