IIT Madras is powering the future of maritime innovation with the launch of its advanced Circulating Water Tunnel Facility at the Discovery Campus in Thaiyur, Chennai. Built with ₹4.5 crore CSR support from Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), the facility will strengthen indigenous research in ship design, hydrodynamics and ocean engineering. The state-of-the-art facility will support experimental studies involving ship models, propellers, offshore systems, underwater structures and marine vehicles, while offering hands-on learning opportunities for students and researchers. Strengthening Academia–Industry Synergy in Maritime Engineering @IITKgp The IIT Kharagpur had the privilege of welcoming Shri Rathindra Rathan, Chairman of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPK), along with his distinguished delegation, on the occasion of the Research Scholars’ Day of the Department of Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture.
