Let’s start by Infrastructure:
1. Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway:
A 1,068 km, 6-lane highway linking Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos. Phases 2A and 2B in Kebbi, covering km 120–385, are progressing, with 19 km of concrete pavement and streetlights already completed. A total of ₦3.63 trillion has already been approved for the Sokoto/Kebbi rollout.
2. Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Dual Carriageway:
Major reconstruction and dualization are underway. The Kano end is at 95% completion, and Section 1, 82 km from Zuba Junction to Jere, is virtually complete.
3. Kano–Kaduna Standard Gauge Rail Line:
A $1.2 billion project. Under this administration, it has moved from 15% completion to 53%. The expected completion date is 2026.
4. Kano–Maradi Standard Gauge Railway:
This project is also a $1.2 billion initiative.
Connecting Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, and Maradi in Niger Republic. The Jigawa section is almost complete. The overall progress has increased from 5% to 60-61%.
5. Kaduna Light Rail Project: A 50 km urban transit system is being developed, consisting of 30 km of Rigachikun–Sabon Tasha and 20 km of Millennium City–Rigasa. It is valued at approximately ₦1 trillion.
6. Mando–Birnin Gwari Road, Kaduna: The reconstruction of this 122.8 km road has been approved. It is part of the ₦178 billion road package for Kaduna.
7. Kaduna Western Bypass: A 21 km dual carriageway that has been abandoned for 22 years is now at approximately 50% completion.
8. Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline: This is a key energy project that aims to support industrial growth and provide gas supply in the North. It is complemented by the 1,350 MW Gwagwalada Independent Power Plant.
9. Garko Irrigation Scheme, Kano: This ₦27 billion Ecological Fund project is designed to boost agriculture.
10. North West Development Commission Headquarters, Kano: A new headquarters has been established on Murtala Mohammed Way, GRA, Kano. It is one of the regional intervention agencies created by the Tinubu administration.
