Texans, not only do we have a problem with Waste, Fraud and Abuse, we also have a HUGE problem with Transparency in public schools.
Lake Travis ISD is caught ALTERING Public Records AFTER they were already produced, and after a criminal complaint was filed with The Travis County DA
@TravisCountyTX
The Open Records Request is about Thompson & Horton LLP @tasbnews affiliated lawyers defending the district
@ltisdschools in a
@teainfo Tea appeal about illegal use of funds, violations of former Superintendent Paul Norton's contract and a 401 day delay in our grievance hearing. Records (below) show LTISD is using 2023 Bond Money/663 Fund to bankroll the defense/outside counsel, all on our dime.
April 8, 2026 LTISD released documents after the
@TXAG ruled in our favor. Records show a check request #179834 for outside legal fees. Sanchez wrote account 663/bond money and was signed off on by Chad Crowson-in house counsel. Pam Sanchez-AP Business Services is named in the 2025 TEA Appeal and 2024 grievance for violating school policy/using 2018 Bond Money), notice the pattern
@TravisREMindset
April 15, 2026, after LTISD refused to provide public documents, we filed a formal complaint with Travis County DA and TEA against Superintendent Curtis Null (Custodian of Records) for violating law.
April 28, 2026 (just 13 days later) LTISD does two things:
1. Sends a new 10-Day Letter to the Attorney General asking to withhold records that should have already been provided in the first request after
@KenPaxtonTX ruled in our favor
2. Alters the records already produced on 4/8/2026. LTISD did not redact records, they completely altered the ones in question.
Under Texas Government Code §552.353, it is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE when the Custodian of Records “fails or refuses to produce public information with criminal negligence.” Altering records after they’ve already been produced, especially right after a criminal complaint is filed is exactly the kind of conduct this law was written for.
Public records about spending public money are supposed to be released as they exist. Public Servants don’t get to edit them afterward and then ask the AG for permission to hide more.
Hey
@GregAbbott_TX @GovAbbottPress @teainfo @MikeMorath what's it going to take to get some REPRESENTATION for our TAXATION?
