And yet yesterday his team was blustering about already having 100. A liar and a grifter to the sad, humiliated end.

Seeing as the Bring Back Boris Barmy Army is now on the march, time for a little public service thread on Johnson's electoral appeal in 2019 and popularity since. Tl;dr - he wasn't popular then, and he *certainly* isn't now 1/?

As if we haven’t got enough to be gloomy about, even the simple pleasure of a foil-wrapped orange KitKat is now a thing of the past. “Flavour Variant” indeed. Hideous, utilitarian, functional, generic & joyless @Nestle @KITKAT #kitkat

A thread of quite jaw-droppingly thick takes. Maybe the only good thing to emerge from this chaos will be the termination of the careers of smug fools such as these, who are paid to pretend they know anything whatsoever about anything. @MediaGuido @oflynnsocial @allisonpearson

Comment desks at Times and Guardian won't be happy bunnies, for sure. May be asking: "Why does this keep happening to us?"

While the profiteers and city bankers are raking it in, the rest of country is being subjected to a national pay cut. Even using the lower rate of inflation, ONS figures show regular pay falling by 4% in real terms. Unfettered profiteering, not wages, has been driving inflation.

Here's what's moving on up. Mortgage repayments. Interest rates. Rent. Prices. Energy bills. Food bills. Oil company profits. Bankers' bonuses. NHS waiting times. You know what's not moving on up? Your pay. Your pension. The pound. The country.

Oh, now @GBNEWS is giving Kelvin MacKenzie a mouthpiece, & he's outraged by the treatment of Nigel Farage & others by "lefties". Does @danwootton have any views on MacKenzie's treatment of the dying Russell Harty? Or on his personally written "The Truth" headline? #GBNews
