In Situ Technology has come full circle!
Originally pioneered and developed in the Nilsson lab, in situ analysis / sequencing has come home in the form of two Xenium In Situ platforms from @10xGenomics.
Xenium will be offered as a service by Spatial Omics platform @scilifelab
@10xGenomics roadmap includes 5,000-plex RNA probes on Xenium imaging, and allele and Isoform mapping in situ; claim of no upper bound for density of RCA probes in situ #AGBT23
Now that plexy was cool but I think most the systems can theoretically get to >5K genes. BUT this isoform and snp level analysis is very cool. I don't see any other approch able to pull this off.
