The current Ebola spread patterns in DRC remind us of a critical public health truth: Diseases do not spread through biology alone. They spread through social systems. Thread alert

National Water (@nwscug ) has been cheating some of us & i think i caught them i stay behind Nalya SS, Bweyogerere, so this neighbor recently upgraded their water connection & during the works National Water removed the pipes supplying my home & replaced them with these bigger ones ( they wanted water with pressure) i spent almost 4 months without water, when they finally reconnected everything last weekend, i received a message threatening disconnection over a bill of more than 100,000shs , the funny part is that, they had been billing me every month even when the pipes had been removed, i called their office & was told they had been coming to read my meter monthly i asked this lady, were u reading a meter when there was no pipe & no water? the lady started stammering, u see bro, u see, u know, i didn’t know ur pipes were disconnected & also my guys told me were coming on ground to check the meter she said, i promise to pick the meter & clear the bills on it before this week ends, I’m waiting to see wat happens Uganda banange, if a boda boda rider doesn’t finish u, something else is always waiting in line 😁😁🙌🏿

You can see clearly from this call of 15.6.2026. Every intern must have registered and obtained a provisional licence to work as medical doctor, nurse, midwife, dental surgeon or Pharmacist from the respective govt medical work/practice regulatory council e.g UMDPC. Then the same govt comes to lie to the public how intern doctors are not doctors Shame upon you govt bootlickers #PayAllMedicalInterns

Why Gen Otafiire has lit up fire at police as he signs out Barely a day after leaving the ministry, Gen @otafiire_k took to his X platform, posting: “Hon Professor @KamuntuProf, I forgot to tell you, please don’t tolerate any form of extrajudicial killings, especially by a few rogue officers in the Crime Intelligence Directorate.” bit.ly/4ou593j #MonitorUpdates

The police officer overseeing Kampala Metropolitan Police also confirmed that the blue Subaru (UBE 402R) used in the robbery is still being held at Kira Police Station, he expressed surprise that the suspects were released, saying the questions surrounding their release can only be answered by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, if the vehicle remains in police custody, many are left wondering how the suspects regained their freedom however we need to go to the station & confirm wthr the car is still there, coz anything can happen 🤷🏿‍♂️
The DPP’s office can sometimes be even more frustrating than the police On 26 January 2025, a fellow tweep was robbed on gunpoint along the Kyaliwajjala–Namugongo Road, with the help of police CCTV cameras, the suspected criminals & their blue Subaru they were using were tracked down Kira Police suggested an out of court settlement where the suspects would compensate the victim for the stolen phones & money withdrawn from her accounts (round table talk between complainant & suspects), but she declined, her position was simple, those responsible should visit university of understanding coz releasing them back into society could put more people at risk of being robbed, harmed or even killed the case attracted a lot of pressure & attacks from some influencers here after the suspects allegedly claimed support for Team MK, eventually 2 suspects were sentenced to Luzira, the car used in robbery was parked at kira police but to our surprise, they were released out of Luzira after only about 2 months concerned by wat had happened, I contacted the office of @Tom_Magambo & was connected to one of his assistants, ( Afande Chelimo Beata) she followed up the matter & was equally surprised by the circumstances surrounding the release, she then linked me to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions & even facilitated my transport to lodge a formal complaint ( very good lady) at the DPP office, i was advised to wait 5–7 days for feedback, ladies & gentlemen, it has now been months & we have never received any response & these suspected armed robbers are freely roaming around the public & most of u are not even safe now u wonder where did DPP base to set these people free back to community 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️ Cc @PoliceUg @CID1_UG @ODPPUGANDA @odppuganda_ @Sudhirntv @DailyMonitor

I have stopped going to South Africa for any international conferences for mainly 3 things. 1. Border police rudeness: Some years ago I was invited for a conference on conflicts in the Horn in South Africa. I showed email invite to the border policeman at the desk. He rudely asked: "but why can't you people hold your peace conferences in your homes. Why always come to South Africa?" - I think he had a point. Why must we? Second time it was worse - "But why are you Zomallis and Ethiopians always here." I reminded him I was actually Kenyan, and I was only in the country for 2 days for an international conference Reply: "Sheh, um, eh. But what is the difference" 2. As soon as locals figure out you are a black person, possibly African from another country, the automatic assumption is that you are an illegal migrant. You see immediate hostile reaction. Honestly, I found SA one of the most miserable places on earth in terms of peoples' attitude to foreigners. The visceral hatred towards fellow Africans is unnerving. Still one of the most beautiful geographies in Africa. 3. The state bureaucracy and departments filled with people who actually know very little about the outside world. Most of the best people who made South Africa an outward-looking African power are gone. All remaining are small-time apparatchiks stealing from the state and fat toads serving as diplomats. I feel sorry for South Africa.

It is profoundly heartbreaking to witness another surge of xenophobic violence in #SouthAfrica this week. Hundreds have marched on Parliament, thousands of families have been displaced, and lives have been tragically cut short. These include at least five Ethiopians killed earlier in the attacks, and five Mozambicans who died in Mossel Bay. Thousands more are now fleeing for their lives. To see South Africa turn to xenophobia is a tragic betrayal of the country's struggle for independence and freedom. African nations stood united to dismantle apartheid. Ethiopia proudly supported "Madiba," Nelson Mandela, in 1962 and issued him a passport so he could travel the continent. Other countries helped in many ways, including with political and financial support. Disagreements and grievances must be addressed by the justice system and the rule of law, never through vigilante violence and collective punishment. South Africa deserves better. Africa deserves better. Stop the hate. Protect the vulnerable. Uphold our shared humanity.

A PhD is a very hard academic undertaking and this is why people want the title without the hard work. You have to find a research area and research topic then sit an interview before you are even admitted! Then you write a proposal and you have to defend it! Then the work and the references reading tons and tons articles and books to make a contribution that is original to academia! Then you have the Viva Voce! The corrections and then finally! People fear this so they pay to be called doctors from small, small places no one even knows. Places selling these nonsensical honorary PhDs are all over the internet!

🔥🔥Under the Uganda Human Organ Donation and Transplant Act, the punishment for selling or participating in the commercial trade of a kidney is imprisonment for life. For doctors it is 12 years or 2 billion shillings with license revoked. Tokikola!
What lesson do you learn from this picture?

Shock in Jinja as absentee Kisima health centre workers sign attendance register months in advance During an impromptu visit at 2.30 pm, members of Jinja city’s security committee found only a security guard at the health centre. The guard informed them that the health workers had gone for lunch and were expected back within an hour. However, despite waiting until 6:30 pm, none of the health workers returned, raising questions about whether they had reported for duty at all. The committee was further alarmed to discover that attendance records had already been filled in for the entire month of June, yet attendance is supposed to be recorded daily. observer.ug/news/shock-as-ab… #Uganda #health

In the first 100 days of Rt Hon @ObothOboth Speakership, the Finance team presented the irrigation system loan on the day of expiry of the Insurance Undertaking, to deny MPs a chance of fully scrutinizing phase 1 performance of the project. Majority MPs fell for the 25% value to a farmer as government covers the 75%. No one cross checked whether that alleged 25% could be the actual market cost of this irrigation system. I hope our dear Speaker will in future stop these eleventh-hour loan approval pressures @Parliament_Ug @henrymusasizi1 @KagutaMuseveni #KisanjaNoMoreSleep
