Two children have been murdered. Sadly, instead of condemning it some are trying to counter/defend it by pushing out the unfortunate ambulance incident. (Which I condemned publicly and vociferously.) So I want to say this to those who want to justify this heinous act today - There was a time men fought with honour and rules of engagement. You are not those men , you are cowards. Justice will be served to the perpetrators quickly and with full might, I have no doubt. But may the wrath of God without mercy fall on those who don’t have the decency to condemn this crime without prejudice.

We observe Patriots’ Day on this day in memory of heroes who laid down their lives for the protection of Manipur.🙏🏼🙏🏼 August 13 is considered a red-letter day in the history of Manipur as on this fateful day in 1891 the prince of Manipur Bir Tikendrajit and General Thangal were hanged at Pheidapung in Imphal in broad daylight by the British before thousands of Manipuris for revolting against them. The sacrifice rendered by Tikendrajit inspired India’s freedom movement subsequently. After the last battle of independence fought at Kheba Ching on April 23, 1891, the Britishers conquered Manipur. The victorious Britishers held a kangaroo court that gave death sentences to several fighters. Tikendrajit and Thangal, who were lodged in jail, were brought out on August 13, 1891, for being hanged in public at a spot near the polo ground. Some other convicted prisoners were hanged inside the jail. Manipur has been observing the day of the public hanging as Patriots’ Day. On the same day, Niranjan Subedar, Kajao and Chirai Naga were hanged to death inside the Manipur jail. The British deported Maharaj Kulachandra and 21 others to Kalapani, the present-day Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They are the immortals, they will remain in our heart forever and ever from one generation to another generation. We salute you from our heart. Long live Manipur.🙏🏼

Kabuis vow to protect integrity of Manipur - Amid the present clashes between Meiteis and the Kukis, more than 40 Kabui villages have sworn to protect Manipur's integrity. In a statement issued today, Kabui Union, Manipur said the union along with All Manipur Kabui Women's Organisation, All Manipur Kabui Students' Union and Kabui Customary Council have been holding public meetings at villages on the present issue. It had started holding the meetings on June 16 and since then, more than 40 Kabui villages and people collectively have resolved to protect Manipur's integrity and its united structure, said the Union. The Union further asserted that there are no Zeliangrong villages in the valley. It urged all not to follow diktat and decisions of any organisations other than Kabui Union, Manipur.
