The U.S. and Iran have tentatively agreed to a deal to end the war, per a senior administration official. It is not yet final. Iran’s enriched nuclear material would be removed and destroyed, its nuclear weapons program dismantled and the Strait of Hormuz reopened to commercial shipping traffic. In return, U.S. would release funds to the Iranians on a rolling basis to ensure Tehran complies with the agreement and makes good on its promise not to procure or produce nuclear weapons in the future.

Nine votes against the NDAA is off the charts for the Senate Armed Services Committee. In recent years, three no votes is about the ceiling. That includes two years ago, when Jack Reed *voted against his own bill* as chairman because he got outvoted on the budget.

Jack Reed, top Democrat on Armed Services, predicts significant casualties if President Trump sent troops to take Iran's Kharg Island. "You'd have significant casualties going ashore, and it also is within a range of all their shore batteries, so as you occupy the island, they would still keep shelling you, so you'd have forces not only losing people going ashore or taking on them, but under a constant, or at least frequent barrage."

Sen. Chris Murphy says the Senate should not move forward with an NDAA until there is an authorization for the Iran war. Comes as U.S. has ramped up strikes and Trump is threatening to take Kharg Island. “The NDAA is the means by which they are going to pay for this war, and if you oppose the war, how do you vote to fund it without a debate on authorization?” said Murphy.

This was only way to get a Ukrainian military aid and a Russian Sanctions bill passed by the House because of the Speaker’s opposition. 70% of America support Ukraine and after a year and a half of “doing nothing” we demanded House action.
the frustration by House R leadership at discharges is really misguided. the reason people feel like they need to file/sign discharge petitions is because they do not feel like the leadership is representing their interests well enough.

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers told reporters just now he “doesn’t agree” with this, and that a defense reconciliation bill “will have to happen.”
🚨🚨 @SenMcConnell at an Air Force appropriations hearing: "I think it's safe to conclude there will not be another reconciliation bill. So it's really not an option." Senate Appropriations Chair @SenatorCollins: "I agree with that assessment."

Comes hours after the Senate couldn't muster enough votes to move forward on a long-term reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, fueled partly by by President Donald Trump’s pick of Bill Pulte to be the acting director of national intelligence
SCOOP: President Trump in an exclusive interview tells me he expects and has made clear to Bill Pulte, his new acting Director of National Intelligence, he wants him to make sweeping personnel cuts and major changes to the U.S. intelligence community, in particular taking aim at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. “You're less shackled,” Trump told me about Pulte’s temporary role. “It sort of gives you more power.” wsj.com/politics/national-se…
