Every 4yrs, we the people choose a President. And only once in our nation’s history has a candidate for President lost an election & refused to accept the will of the people. Only once. And if he loses, he’ll do it again this year. For this alone, he does not deserve your vote.

Thanks @bittman for your stovetop fruit crisp recipe in How to Cook Everything Fast. I no longer refer directly to the recipe but being able to throw together a quick dessert which cooks while we eat dinner is game changing.

PSA from me: Our kids are not in constant danger from creeps, kidnapping, germs, grades, flashers, frustration, failure, baby snatchers, bugs, bullies, men, sleepovers and/or the perils of a non-organic grape. So we don't have to parent as if they are. #LetGrowOrg

Honestly. The Agile methods can be boiled down to this: 1. Work in short cycles. 2. Measure what happens. 3. Adapt. If you don't find story points helpful, don't use story points. If daily scrums are getting in the way, don't do daily scrums. If the cycle is too long, shorten the cycle. If the cycle is too short, lengthen the cycle. Amplify the things that work. Change the things that don't. And, for God's sake, stop all the bellyaching.

Is @MicroConf connect a resource for people building line-of-business apps to run operational businesses? Or only for SaaS businesses whose primary product is the app itself?

Story time. A looong 🧵. Stay to the end. It's worth it. I had a first in a lifetime experience last week that I want to share. I was in Israel for Yom HaZikaron (YHZ) and Yom Ha'Atzmaut (YHA).

Zionism literally just means believing that the Jewish people have a right to a homeland of their own. If you twist it into anything else, the racism is coming from you.

Scenario: a team does 1 week of research to validate a decision, and ends up disproving their initial set of assumptions. In output-based org culture, that team is now a week behind. In outcome-based org culture, that team is now a week ahead.

@ellenchisa @lissijean @leonbarnard Thanks for that amazing Product Thinking episode - especially Ellen's anecdote from Kickstarter activity feed. I listened yesterday and am immediately using what I learned to bring a different type of mockup to user testing conversations.

In my case, @balsamiq is actually the higher fidelity mockup - I have a pretty table with colors, various possibilities for how the data might look, what action buttons there'll be, and so on. But it's fake data. I coupled it with a database query (in @metabase) where (cont)

I can plug in a user ID to see what data it will show for that user - obviously not formatted as nicely. Had a user interview where she liked the Balsamiq mockup, but when shown the actual data, she realized how it actually needed to be organized differently.

There is a lot written about the Palestinians and the fact that they will never be able to move on from this. “How will they ever make peace?” is often the refrain. It’s as if they don’t know recent Jewish history (then again, supposedly 20% of Gen Z doesn’t). Small 🧵

There's something ironic about a supposed User Experience module requiring a course to train you how to navigate through it.
