Out of sight but within earshot doesn't seem to have been a contested fact as far as I can tell. The false claim that it wasn't my child was made to me, not as far as I know (e.g. in the police report) to the police.

If the police can get around specific legislation instructing them that it is not ipso facto a crime for a child to be in public alone without some specific danger, by just citing the general child endangerment statute as grounds for arrest, then this doesn't prevent arrests.

Probably the #1 reason kids aren't playing outside is that their parents get arrested when they do.

This is what good parenting looks like, actually. Don’t be an emotional vampire, trailing 3 steps behind your kid all the time. Just enjoy watching them enjoy and guiding them through a childhood that you don’t share. We’re not that important, TBH. Less parenting centered on parents, please! @LetGrowOrg
I have zero tolerance for dads who show up on vacation, immediately crack and cold one, and then spend hours observing the fun their kids are having from a chair instead of being a part of it. You can choose numbness or you can choose to make memories. You don't get the time back.

Hot take: kids don't need another app, curriculum, or wellness intervention. Sometimes they just need one quiet minute to be on their own and process. Had a great conversation with @FreeRangeKids today about exactly this, and I'm super grateful for her wise insights. Kids aren't fragile. They're capable. They just need room. That's what @LetGrowOrg does. That's what @MeaningfulMo does. Let them grow! Some things are simpler than we make them out to be. Thanks @CarolynGorman_ for the intro!

Thanks no worries. I can’t remember anything specific you’ve said I just remember you tweeting about your toddler in the last and feeling like I resonated with what you said.
