The RIYE Under-15 Athletics Circuit is exactly the kind of grassroots investment Ogun State needs. 18 schools turned up for the Egba Zone qualifiers at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta — and the talent on display was something else. Adigun Noah set the tone early, winning both the 100m and 200m. The girls held their own too, with Elekede taking the 100m and Gogo Eunice dominating the 400m. Top two finishers in each event have now booked their spots in the grand finale. And this is just the beginning. Qualifiers are still coming for Ilaro, Sagamu, and Ijebu-Ode before everything converges at the grand finale on June 26 — back at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta. Delu said the goal is to discover and nurture young athletics talent across Ogun State. Looking at what happened Monday, he's well on his way. However PDP chairman Abayomi Tella didn't mince words — calling it "Ogun for Ogun" and taking direct shots at APC for fielding what he described as Lagos imports. PDP needs to stop the campaign of Senator Yayi isnt from Ogun, it won't fly, the people know Senator Yayi is from Ogun but spent most of his time in lagos which is normal. The 2027 battle for Oke-Mosan is getting interesting.

Yesterday, I received a delegation from the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN), Nigeria Chapter @AWLN_Nigeria , for the signing of the partnership agreement between AWLN and CLTC @cltcnigeria . The delegation was led by the Chairperson, Prof. Funmilayo Para-Mallam mni. This milestone builds on an earlier commitment made during the 2026 edition of the Young Women’s Leadership Conference (YWLC ‘26), where both parties pledged to work together to advance young women's leadership, empowerment and development. The signing served as a formalisation of that commitment, providing a clearer framework for deeper collaboration and sustained impact. A key aspect of this partnership is the joint execution and delivery of structured intergenerational mentorship programmes, ensuring that participants continue to benefit from capacity-building opportunities, networking and other empowerment initiatives beyond the conference.

On Wednesday, I met with the Director General of @NatSportsComm, Hon. @BukolaOlopadee, to explore areas of collaboration between @cltcnigeria and NSC. Both institutions share a commitment to building purposeful, disciplined and empowered young Nigerians; and the alignment between our mandates makes for a natural and exciting partnership.
