Doing multicolor (single-molecule) imaging? Tired of waiting for each color?
Want simultaneous imaging with full field of view but without the multicamera hassle?
Take a look at our 'Circulator'! 🔥💪

Applications are now open for our advanced #SIM practical course! If you are an #imagingscientist working in a #corefacility or research group supporting or soon to be supporting SIM projects, then this is the course for you! More info here micronoxford.com/sim-practic… 🔬
Our third (and for now last...) paper on DMD-SIM, where we use temperature control of a diode laser to tweak its wavelength to match the DMD's blazed grating.

It is an alternative to the very nice approach of P. Brown et al. (@DougPShepherd, @ptbrown1729), where they use a voice coil mirror to slightly adjust the angle instead of shifting the laser wavelength:

To all SIM-people: ever wondered about noise artifacts in SIM reconstructions and about what's real and what's not? We developed reconstruction algorithms that handle the noise artifacts (2D & 3D). No more SIM fudging! Check out: nature.com/articles/s41592-0…
For those using IDS uEye cameras in MicroManager, I finally got a chance to compile our updated device adapter for the current MicroManager nightly:

Didn't get a chance for any extensive testing yet, but on first glance, it works as well as before.
Encoding next weeks lecture.... We've decided to prerecord lectures and just have a weekly Q&A session, to give people some more flexibility. Also, eventually optional practicals in small groups, and others can join via video call. Quite a bit of effort, but hopefully worth it.
Deep learning to denoise SIM data, with two approaches, (a) having the network learn the complete reconstruction and (b) only using the network for denoising and artifact reduction after "classic" reconstruction.

Anyone interested in / working on trying this for (deconvolution-based) SIM reconstructions? We've thrown some ideas around in our 'PhD projects design contest'. And hey, we'd have a logo... #NeuralNetworks#fairSIM
Our simulation approaches to use DMDs with coherent light to build SIM microscopes. Complements the cost-effective DMD SIM that we were able to build based on some of these calculations.

Today @HHMIJanelia’s Optical Interest Group hosted @mueller_physics who presented the current state of the #fairSIM project. Not only did he highlight his @FijiSc fairSIM plugin, but also his team’s efforts to improve SIM scopes on multiple fronts... Just impressive! #openscience
