I’ve been idly thinking about how to improve the layout of flow diagrams for a long time. (@SankeyMATIC was first released in 2014, so… about that long.) I can’t say I’ve solved the whole problem, but I am quite proud of these recent improvements. #dataViz #BuildNiceThings
Friends: I have been spending time in the Land of Somewhat Challenging Geometry Algorithms. After an extended stay there, I return to you with some visible improvements to share: 1. An improved layout engine 2. More precise controls for your diagrams Let's dig in. 🧵 #dataViz

This makes absolute sense. When I give a talk for a corporation, I don’t promote other corporations. If I did, I would be fired on the spot and never booked again. Is that hard to understand?

IMPORTANT: Those at-home tests you’ll be able to order next week won’t arrive by Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or New Year’s. BUT! If you have private insurance you can walk into most drug stores and get 8 free at-home tests at no cost PER INSURED PERSON, EVERY 30 DAYS.

Obviously the point of moderation isn't to please me personally. But I do wish it were easier to actually avoid toxic content, instead of having it delivered in a shell of "I do not approve of this toxic content that I'm nonetheless sharing."

Delegating is hard because you have to intentionally not do stuff that you want to do because you delegated it. That only leaves the stuff you didn't want to do that you couldn't delegate.

Interesting. The AI totally fails the cognitive reflection test. It gives the intuitive but incorrect answer every time.

A notable departure from @Twitter: one of the oldest, most robust open government & civic technology websites in the USA has signed off. @govtrack remains on the open Web: govtrack.us/ & continues to be social on Mastodon, Instagram, Patreon, & Github.
