I’ve been idly thinking about how to improve the layout of flow diagrams for a long time.
(@SankeyMATIC was first released in 2014, so… about that long.)
I can’t say I’ve solved the whole problem, but I am quite proud of these recent improvements.

Friends: I have been spending time in the Land of Somewhat Challenging Geometry Algorithms.
After an extended stay there, I return to you with some visible improvements to share:
1. An improved layout engine
2. More precise controls for your diagrams

ALT 3 small example diagrams showing some of the new output capabilities of SankeyMATIC. The first example is a funnel where the initial nodes lose value and converge on a single final node. The second is an image where one node splits into two child flows; the top child node splits into two more child flows; then the top grandchild splits into two more flows. The third is a binary tree showing 8 elements collapsing down to one and then splitting into 8 nodes again on the far end. Each type of image will be referenced in the thread below.

This makes absolute sense. When I give a talk for a corporation, I don’t promote other corporations. If I did, I would be fired on the spot and never booked again. Is that hard to understand?

Obviously the point of moderation isn't to please me personally. But I do wish it were easier to actually avoid toxic content, instead of having it delivered in a shell of "I do not approve of this toxic content that I'm nonetheless sharing."
