"CSS doesn't have a notion of page "spreads", but the "float-defer" properties make it possible to place an image over a spread: one part of the image is shown on the left page, and the other part is on the right."

Prince 14 adds new ways to float images - to the inside or outside margins; to the top or bottom of the page, or individual columns, to repel other content, and more. See the illustrated guide, with lots of geese! princexml.com/howcome/2021/g…

Prince 13.6 is out, including support for SSL version TLSv1.3, signed and notarised Prince binaries to avoid warnings on MacOS Catalina, a whole lot of tasty improvements of SVG and CSS filters, and a load of bug fixes in PDF tagging for accessibility: princexml.com/releases/13/

The fantastic 500 page httparchive's 2020 almanac is out. As is fitting for this annual look at the markup, CSS and accessibility of 7 million sites, the PDF version is a tagged, accessible PDF generated by Prince from the source HTML. almanac.httparchive.org/en/2…

The things I work on at @yeslogic are pretty fun. This is a test case I created for text containing emoji, rendered on a path in an SVG, converted to PDF by @prince_xml.

Very impressed with @prince_xml for creating accessible PDFs from HTML.
Good CSS support including Paged Media obviously but also most other modern CSS properties. And best of all, free for non-commercial use.

Prince 13.5 fixes font subsetting issue affecting some TrueType fonts, improves performance for long documents using OpenType fonts, updates curl version to fix an issue with AltNames on Windows 7 princexml.com/releases/13/

While I like (and still use) #wkhtmltopdf, I can't believe I just discovered @prince_xml. I *really* like what I've been able to do so far with Paged Media and Generated Content in Prince. princexml.com/
