50.37.... over hurdles. That's just insane. No way to describe what Sydney McGlaughlin-Levrone has done. How good is that? While running over hurdles, she would have been just 0.2 seconds away from qualifying for the final...in the flat 400m. Insane.

The any endurance running kills all your speed folks are going to have a hard time listening to this one… Your 400m Olympic champ ran a pretty stellar 4:50 for 1500 in 7th grade.

🗣️ “I have a pretty big engine. I used to run cross country. I put a lot of mileage in, a lot of stuff like that. So when I dropped down to an 800, 1500 runner before, and then I dropped down to the 400 and worked on foot speed and a lot of jumps, I always had the strength.” You know what they say: Strength = speed 🤷‍♂️ After winning the 400m Olympic title, @QuincyHall400 shares that he actually used to be a cross country runner before dropping down to the middle distance events, and ultimately, the sprints. 🎥 Full press conference: youtu.be/ZbfQIX2JbZU

Would love to see a pro circuit for XC ... and more recreational/amateur opportunities!
Watching NCAA XC confirms everything I love about the sport. Wish there were more opportunities at the pro level...

An incredible run by @walmsleyruns at #PCX2. He breaks the @usatf 100km record but misses the world record by just 11 seconds after more than 6 hours of running. 6:09:25 (TBC). Live stream 👉 youtu.be/-8Tzynp-cqs 📸 via @HOKAONEONE live stream

Valuable listen for anyone but especially female athletes/runners, or coaches of girls/women. We (myself included) need to do a better job of talking about and with our athletes on overall body health and athletics! overcast.fm/ ZSokmvBuQ

3:58.63. Every year since 2003, @nickwillis has broken 4 minutes for the mile. He ran his first when he was 19, his 19th, last night, at 37. Nick’s run sets a new world record, previously held by fellow Kiwi, John Walker, who ran 18 sub-4 miles from 1973-1990. Race day is sacred.

Success is about consistently showing up. It's not in heroic levels of work. In study of elite track athletes, those that had fewer modified training weeks due to injury or illness performed better. researchgate.net/publication…

Study with important insights and echoes a conversation with @PfaffSC just last week. As Dan raised and this study highlights, there is a need to include systematic and graduated exposure to 'mechanical perturbation' (being bumped and jostled) during rehab and return to sport
