I know "the Resistance" was cringe but personally I think it was healthy that swathes of the public, civil society, and Democrats behaved as if there was still a country worth saving back in 2017. The alternative, it turns out, is much worse.

Hillary 2016 was the worst thing to happen to the Dems because it not only doomed us to Trump but alienated millions of working class, low trust, young, and progressive voters from the party, possibly forever, by treating those who didn't like it with sneering, vicious contempt.
Bernie’s run in 2016 was perhaps the worst thing to ever happen to the Democratic Party because it have a bunch of lefties false hopes followed by an incredible persecution complex.

You misunderstand the purpose of the long shower. I'm not doing anything in there. I am literally staring into nothingness and using the sensory input of falling water to temporarily wash away some of the horror of corporeal human life.
