I finally completed the brush-up of the articles I wrote over the last 10 years! With this 🧵, I am going to present them 1 by 1 as they will be worthy of attention for a while. This exercise has been cathartic for me and I hope it can deserve your RT or share. #gamedev #coding

Kimi 2.7 ranked 2nd after Fable 5 and before GPT-5 xhigh We have re-run our ErdosBench smoke test on 14 problems with Kimi 2.7, Qwen 3.7 Max, Grok 4.3 and compared it with the top performers from previous runs. Kimi 2.7 is amazingly good. More below.

My current AI setup with opencode is: gpt5.5 medium for planning and orchestrating Deepseek 4 pro for coding Deepseek 4 flash for exploring and git operations kimi 2.6 for code reviews this setup allows me to work with 20$ openai and 2x10$ opencode accounts.

deepseek 4 is not as good as kimi, but costs less which is needed as the open code go monthly limit is too tight minimax M3 is not good enough for complex code tasks qwen 3.7 plus context window is too narrow

it is incredible that in 2026 I am still forced to download Picasa because nothing is close in terms of UX, fuck UX designers.

Yeah the UK definitely dropped the ball on state pension. It's the lowest in Europe and still they have trouble affording it. All the EU countries population are getting older, so this is a lack of long term strategic vision.
The full UK State Pension is now worth around £12,548 a year. That's less than half the earnings of someone working full-time on the National Minimum Wage, despite many pensioners paying taxes and National Insurance for 40, 50 or even 60 years. Yet every time the Treasury needs money, the same voices appear demanding the Triple Lock be scrapped. Why? State pension spending is forecast at around £154 billion this year, but that supports over 13 million pensioners, many of whom rely on it as their primary income. Meanwhile, billions continue to disappear into failed projects, government waste, bureaucracy, consultants, quangos and policies that deliver little value to ordinary taxpayers. The Triple Lock isn't some gold-plated luxury. It exists because politicians allowed the State Pension to fall behind for decades. Even today, a full State Pension is barely above the poverty line and is nowhere near a typical working wage. If politicians want to save money, start with waste, inefficiency and failed spending programmes. Leave pensioners alone. They worked, they paid in, they built this country and they deserve dignity in retirement, not another raid on their income.

SAMSUNG'S OWN WARRANTY JUST BACKFIRED Louis Rossmann's 4TB SSD died under warranty. Samsung offered a $330 refund and claimed they had no replacement stock. The same drive is on Samsung's own Amazon store for $949 - and their own warranty says he's owed market value. - He paid $330 for the 990 Pro under two years ago, today it costs nearly 3x that - Samsung's warranty literally promises a refund of the "then current market value" if they can't replace it - They claimed a memory shortage while selling the exact drive on Amazon by the dozen - He's giving them 60 days before filing in Travis County small claims court They wrote the clause. They just never thought prices would triple.
Louis Rossmann is planning to sue Samsung because of a warranty problem with a 4TB SSD drive that he bought from Best Buy for around 330 dollars about two years ago and that stopped working while still under warranty. He sent Samsung proof of the failure and they asked for the drive to test it but after checking they returned it saying it was fine even though Rossmann tested it again and confirmed it was still broken. Samsung then offered him only the original 330 dollar refund and said they had no stock for a replacement yet the exact same drive is currently selling on Amazon for about 949 dollars.

I am not having much more technical challenges nowadays, but I am still having a lot of fun learning new tools/logistic stuff (i.e. lately using telemetric and grafana to monitor servers). My last challenge was to make our current network code, which I am very happy with...

...there are still a few things I would like to do if I was retired/taking a sabbatic. One of these would be to port this engine to Svelto.ECS and make it ECS oriented! There are so many things I could still show.

what I would like to point out that a juniour programmer with unity would also take few hours to do this (assuming this very simple asset pack is available)
Claude Fable 5 Higgsfield MCP is insane. You can now build a playable game with a full story and crazy visuals 🤯

If you build to IL2CPP, both Unity.Mathf.Sqrt and System.MathF.Sqrt end up calling single precision sqrtf(), but the System.MathF version ends up being *slightly slower* due to an extra "is the class initialized?" check.

Every time I step into a cathedral I always think if humanity can still build these kind of projects, so the Sagrada Familia is possibly a testament that we still can.
Absolutamente increíble. Lo que hoy ha hecho Barcelona se recordará mucho tiempo. La Sagrada Familia, Gaudí y los que durante 140 años han creído en ello, lo merecían.

A new Science study shows that bumble bees can position a ball underneath a fake “flower” to reach a reward, suggesting they can exhibit spontaneous problem-solving and challenging the notion that such advanced cognitive abilities are exclusive to large-brained vertebrates.
