@nahcrof is very cool - it is a dirt cheap , quantized cluster of oss AI models run by an honest founder on leased hardware. The bet is a "race to the bottom" in token pricing. Unfortunately, it is a "house of cards" business ...
MiniMax shoes why - soon all oss Chinese models will include license clauses to prevent unauthorized resellers. The have to prevent prices rot for their models, now that they all took the VC poison pill.
@Alibaba_Qwen
killed the free/generous coding plan in qwen cli as of April 15th, 2026. No announcement!
@MiniMax_AI
2.7 no longer free oss. Gemini CLI pulled the Pro models this month too. Kimi 2.5 and GLM 5.1 - the last 2 still free, brutal VC capitalism from now on!
Hot take: DeepSeek V4 will not be released in Feb. With Qwen-MAX-Thinking and Kimi 2.5 out, the bar is very high and the V4 hype and expectations - at absurd levels. They would like to avoid "Zuck Llama 4" event, especially since it is their "hobby" project
Hope I am wrong ;-)
Before you use GPT-5 for coding, watch this:

There is a lot of hype and bs in this ai bubble, and few test and verify for real, outside the so called "benchmarks".
@burkov
Massive respect for @fh-ms, @hg-ms and the Microstream team - thank you! The entire stack around the Java Eclipse Store is open-sourced now as "Eclipse Data Grid", did not see this coming!

Gemini Code Assitant has been a sh*t show for hours now, started at least yesterday! @OfficialLoganK what is going on?
"Unable to connect to Gemini Code Assist. Check your network settings" in IntelliJ IDE. Unusable!
Very impressed with Google's Flutter platform - covers iOS, Android, Web, Desktop. One UI framework/language(Dart) to tulle them all. Production ready, updated quarterly
Oracle needs to understand that Java server-side dominance can be easily destroyed if Java fails on the UI . Acquiring Gluonhq.com , and re-engaging with JavaFX, and GWT is a first step, merging GraalVM into OpenJDK is next..
Some hard-core debates to "go Reactive or go Loom":
groups.google.com/g/quarkus-…
I bet on Loom (my future project is all blocking NIO code), but with no Loom release date in sight, it is hard to argue.
@pressron @BrianGoetz
Can java17 and java18 be released at the same time - java17 will contain no preview features (no one wants previews in LTS!), java18 will have all previews ?
@BrianGoetz
I wonder why Google is pushing Fluter so hard, now on Ubuntu desktops, Android, iOS. Underneath it is the Dart (an OK language), that never took off for web developemnt, but will now compete against Android(Kotlin, Java), iOS( Swift), Xamarin(C#).
There is also the possibility that Fluter/Dart will fail, like many other Google projects, due to internal politics, etc. But don't bet the farm on that...
