TJ Bennett (@teejaybee6) interviewed his fellow @prohuman_org advisor, @shakamitchell, about the Come Together Music Project. The project shows how music has the unique power facilitate the emotional depth needed for genuine connection, even at work. "There’s a safety in using music to express something, because it gives you a little bit of distance—like, just the right amount of distance…. One of the guys… asked him from the stage, ‘What’s the song you picked?’ and he picked a song by a band called Everclear called Father of Mine. And said, ‘Well, why’d you pick that?’ And he said it’s the song that took him back to when his father died. Well, you do not go out to an event space on a Thursday night and expect to tell a bunch of strangers information like that.… But I think that the music really facilitates the conversation…. I followed up with him after and I said, ‘Hey, I really hope I didn’t put you on the spot. I didn’t mean to do that.’ And he said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘This to me is proof of concept. This works.’"
Thanks to TJ Bennett at the Pudding Factory for inviting me to have this conversation as part of his @Prohuman_org series. When Come Together Music started, I didn’t contemplate how it might benefit the workplace but the implications are undeniable. More healthy and authentic interactions at work will ultimately increase professional outcomes. Check out the full convo below - and answer TJ’s song prompts too! buff.ly/f2CAzF2

YouTubers be like “wake up at 4am and run, that’s alpha!” No, it’s not. Look at apex predators; they’re all lazy. Bears hibernate, lions sleep all day. You know who wakes up at 4am and runs? Squirrels.

Am I the only one that thinks novels should have a page near the back that lists all the main characters and a brief synopsis so that i am not constantly flipping through pages to figure out who someone is?

The audacity is actually unmatched. Imagine being so deep in your "Main Character" arc that a paper cup ruins your entire day. This barista deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for that level of restraint. I would have folded immediately.

What stuns me about this statement is that Elon would NEVER want his work to be replaced. He would NEVER stop working and creating and innovating bc his body tells him that is life. But he thinks the rest of us don’t want or need the same satisfaction of earning.
Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

There are too many emails. Too many texts. Too many accounts. Too many logins. Too many apps. Too many rewards programs. Too many fundraisers. Too many appointments. Too many virtual meetings. Too many newsletters. Too many forms. Too many social media platforms. My brain hurts.

Every night human beings go to sleep, lose all sense of their known reality, plunge into an abstract hyper-dimensional realm of infinite experience where time collapses, all moments instantly manifest, and then they wake up and just go about their day.

This is the most satisfying news you’ll hear today ! Do you remember when a group of boys, strangers to each other, formed a human chain to save a dog from fast flowing water? Today, local authorities unveiled a “Unity Statue” at the same place to celebrate human unity.

The common usage of "decimate" to mean devastate or destroy a large portion (not strictly 1 in 10) began in the 17th century—attested by the 1660s, right after the word entered English ~1600 for the Roman punishment and tithing senses. It's been standard English for over 350 years. The "exactly 10%" insistence is a modern pedantic take, not even the primary early usage. Words shift; that's how language works.
