Half the U.S. mining workforce is retiring in the 2020s. No better degrees to go after now than mining engineering, metallurgy, and geology.
China graduated 4000 mining engineers last year btw.

If you know anybody that wants to have a sure-fire, long-term career where everybody that's in that field is retiring because they're all Baby Boomers, go into that.

The issue with office checks for early stage hardware companies is that there is a high chance, on any given day, that the entire company will be testing at an undisclosed location in the Middle East or on some military base.
