Are we ready to classify Parkinson's disease based on biological classifications? A great debate this morning in Prague, and I had the opportunity to play 'referee.' Tiago Outeiro from Germany said YES. Matej Skorvanek from Slovakia said NO. The post-debate voting revealed 2/3 of the audience said NO we are not ready. Interesting that pre-debate it was 2/3 YES and 1/3 NO. So important was have the dialogue and talking to each other and not at each other. Co-pathologies in #parkinsons #alzheimers, etc are no longer the elephant in the room. We need to do a lot more to understand what this means, and how we will think of future therapies. @kordower is looking at irisin. @movedisorder
