I joined community members, advocates and elected officials to say no to even a foot of expansion to the Cross Bronx expressway.
For too long, the Bronx has sounded the alarm. I’m proud to help lead this fight by introducing the Stop Highway Community Harm Act in the Legislature to stop highway expansions near public housing and high-asthma areas.
It is time to put people over cars, communities over congestion, and health over highways.

Today @SenGonzalezNY and I sent a letter to @MTA along w/ 20 other state city electeds who represent current or former stations on the G line. With the planned summer shutdown, we need a full upgrade:
🚇 Full eight cars
🚇 Restored service to Forest Hills
🚇 Greater frequency
ALT As representatives of Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods currently or formerly served by the G train, we urge the MTA to complement its important but extremely disruptive installation of Communication-Based Trained Controls (CTBC) with a full upgrade of the line, including the addition of subway cars, increased frequency and restoration of service to the Forest Hills-71st Avenue station. The G train serves some of the fastest growing neighborhoods in New York State. Between 2010 and 2020, the population of Greenpoint and Williamsburg grew by 18%, while Long Island City saw its population increase by nearly 200% over the same period. Until 2010, the G also served parts of the fast growing neighborhoods of Astoria, Woodside, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Rego Park and Forest Hills. Thousands more housing units are planned for the coming years in all of these neighborhoods.
