This is how broken the democratic process in Canada is. A mega bank based in America hired an army of ex-Liberals, Conservatives and NDPers and bolted the issue of Billy Bishop expansion to the top of the priority list for Ford and Carney. No one voted for it. No one wanted it. No one campaigned on it. Torontonians are massively against it. We are under economic warfare. Ontario govt wiped out OSAP for students. Complete horseshit. In 2018, Ford passed a bill to cut Toronto's Council in half in the middle of a municipal campaign. The bill was introduced on July 30, passed on August 14, and finalized by the Ontario Court of Appeal on September 19, for an election held on October 22.

Public health honestly has lost any credibility - very problematic, because now even when advice IS evidence-informed (like benefits of vaccination, for example), many do not believe what’s being advocated. Not adopting an evidence-base with Covid burnt a lot of social capital.
