I have no intentions on debating whether climate change is real or not in the year 2023, and I have ZERO tolerance for those who minimize the crisis and how it has negatively impacted so many different communities, especially here in Miami.

Meteorologists catch flak for imperfect forecasts, but I think we should be extra grateful that we can see that such a powerful, potentially dangerous winter storm coming days ahead of time. That wasn't possible 100 years ago.

Well, we had an ice storm TORNADO early this AM! Not sure I’ve ever heard of one. This is a still from a video taken by a fellow community member 2 miles from our lake house where I am right now. Hope everyone across the lake are okay! Wild! 🌪️🥶

Today is the first time in 3,655 days where DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, and Boston all received at least 6” of snow.

This one was a doozy, and will be remembered for a long time. Sadly the fatalities are over 5 now from this storm. The sleet line was a tricky forecast for sure. Major ice storm from Louisiana to middle Tennessee. Indianapolis got over 11" of snow -- biggest snowstorm since 2014. 15 states got 12" of snow.

Melissa feels like the most West-Pacific-esque hurricane there has ever been in the Atlantic. Large, deep, angry Category 5 in the deep tropics, like what you'd see around Figi or the Philippines.

Don’t forget that the talented, dedicated meteorologists at the NHC/NOAA have provided accurate and life saving forecasts and recon data for Melissa while not getting paid and lacking resources due to the government shutdown. Weather never stops and neither does our mission.

HORRIBLE: WORST CASE scenario is unfolding. Really, I am near a loss of words. "Last chance to protect your life at all costs" is the words from the NHC. Melissa is about to make landfall at its strongest intensity. A humanitarian disaster is about to unfold. The hurricane hunters detected 252 MPH gusts 300 feet off the ocean surface. 185 MPH max sustained winds and 220 MPH gusts in the eyewall about to obliterate Black River area.
