The launch of the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center is a milestone for the 3 1 partnership among the U.S., Israel, Greece, and Cyprus — and a direct result of the East Med Act of 2019, led by then-Sen. Marco Rubio (@SecRubio) and then-Representative (now @AJCCEO) Ted Deutch. AJC advocated for this legislation and has long championed 3 1 cooperation. This Center will deepen energy collaboration and strengthen regional security at a moment when both are essential. This is what sustained advocacy delivers.
Energy cooperation is the backbone of global stability. I was proud to join @SecretaryWright and @YpenGr Minister Papastavrou for the historic launch of the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center at @RiceUniversity’s @BakerInstitute for Public Policy, a milestone for the 3 1 partnership 🇺🇸 🇬🇷 🇨🇾🇮🇱. Under the leadership of @POTUS, America is working with our partners to advance energy security, regional stability, economic growth, and new investment across the Eastern Mediterranean. When nations work together to secure reliable and affordable energy, they strengthen their economies and the partnerships that keep our world safe and prosperous. The new Eastern Mediterranean Energy Center advances this critical cooperation. We look forward to expanding business-to-business engagement and unlocking the vast energy potential of the region for the benefit of our nations and our people.

Ten years ago today, a terrorist linked to the Islamic State murdered 49 innocent people and injured dozens of others who were celebrating Latin Night at Pulse, an LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando, Florida. We remember and honor the victims and stand with the survivors and families of those lost in this senseless act of violence and hate.

For decades, AJC has worked to strengthen Muslim-Jewish relations through dialogue, partnership, and a shared commitment to building a more inclusive future. On @JBSTVORG, AJC Director of Muslim-Jewish Relations @AriMGordon reflected on what makes that work possible: a willingness to engage, listen, and stay at the table—even amid disagreement. youtube.com/watch?si=XHud8CU…

We are deeply concerned by reports that European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas compared Israel to apartheid-era South Africa. Such a characterization departs from the longstanding position of the EU, misrepresents the historical reality of apartheid, and fuels a dangerous campaign to delegitimize Israel. We urge her to clarify and retract these reported remarks. The apartheid label has been repeatedly rejected by the EU itself, the United States, and many democratic governments around the world. euractiv.com/news/exclusive-…

This is Israel! Today, more than 100,000 people from around the world took to the streets of Tel Aviv to celebrate in the annual Pride Parade. This event is the largest LGBTQ celebration in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world, serving as a proud display of the openness, freedom, and diversity that define Israeli society.

AJC welcomes the launch of the International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace, backed by the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, with an initial £3 million commitment. We have long supported this effort alongside the Alliance for Middle East Peace (@ALLMEP), recognizing that civil society initiatives and people-to-people engagement are essential to build trust, expand networks, and lay the foundation for a more secure, prosperous, and interconnected Middle East. gov.uk/government/news/uk-au…

We welcome the Slovenian government's decision to rescind its arms embargo on Israel. At a time when Israel continues to confront significant security challenges, cooperation among democratic partners is essential. We hope this decision marks a positive step toward stronger engagement and closer ties between Slovenia and Israel. timesofisrael.com/liveblog_e…

We are at an inflection point in the fight against hate. Surging antisemitism is not just a threat to the Jewish community; it is a crisis for our democracy and the values we cherish as Americans. I thank @RepDanGoldman and @RepMikeLawler for their leadership and for demonstrating that confronting Jew-hatred and protecting American Jews is not a political issue—it's a moral obligation.
EXCLUSIVE | @RepDanGoldman and @RepMikeLawler are leading 28 colleagues in introducing a House version of the Jewish American Security Act, the package of antisemitism-related legislation introduced last month in the Senate. @marcrod97 reports: ji.news/579w2

In May alone, antisemitic incidents were recorded in 29 out of London's 32 boroughs, according to @MetPoliceUK data. Antisemitic incidents in London rose a whopping 72% in May compared to April, and a staggering 172% over last year. This is what happens when antisemitic rhetoric becomes normalized and Jews are targeted because of a geopolitical conflict thousands of miles away. We urge the British government, the @MayorofLondon, and the Met Police to continue to ramp up efforts to protect the Jewish community. public.tableau.com/shared/N8…

"From the river to the sea" is not a riddle. It is a phrase that can incite violence and one that 68% of U.S. adults, who have heard the phrase, associate with antisemitic incidents, according to AJC’s State of Antisemitism in America 2025 Report. At AJC Global Forum, @AvivaKlompas cut through the debate over intent: regardless of how some people use these slogans, they have led to real-life harm to Jewish people.

“Oftentimes, my day-to-day work is hugely dependent on what’s happening in the community, what’s happening in our state, what’s happening in Israel, what’s happening around the world.” In this week’s “You Should Know” section in the @JewishExponent, Hilary Levine, Associate Director of AJC Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey, reflects on her 11 years at AJC, the importance of bipartisan advocacy, and the work of strengthening Jewish communities, supporting Israel, and building partnerships across the region. We are excited to formalize our partnership with @EmiratesScholar to bolster interfaith dialogue and cooperation throughout the Middle East. Through AJC’s Center for a New Middle East and AJC Abu Dhabi: The Sidney Lerner Center for Arab-Jewish Understanding, this partnership will combine the Emirates Scholar Center’s academic expertise with AJC’s more than 70 years of experience in the region. AJC is the only American Jewish organization with a permanent presence in the Gulf. At a pivotal time for the region, one marked by both challenges and opportunities, this partnership is driven by a shared dedication to a future built on interconnectedness and prosperity, rather than uncertainty and war. ajc.org/news/ajc-emirates-sc…

We welcome the joint statement by the United States and 21 other nations condemning the Iranian regime’s attempts to kill, kidnap, harass, and intimidate people across Europe, North America, and Australia. For decades, the regime has used terror, intimidation, proxy groups, and criminal networks to undermine international security, with threats extending far beyond the Middle East. The international community must continue to work jointly to confront and counter these attacks. state.gov/releases/office-of…

That's @Isaac_Herzog, the President of Israel, speaking directly to the Lebanese people in Arabic. There is something remarkable about seeing an Israeli president address the people of Lebanon in their own language. It is a reminder that Israelis and Lebanese have far more to gain from peace than from conflict, and far more that unites them than divides them. Hezbollah and the Iranian regime must not be allowed to determine Lebanon's future. The destiny of Lebanon belongs to the Lebanese people and their legitimate government, not to those who seek to drag the country deeper into perpetual conflict. President Herzog has extended a hand of peace from Jerusalem to Beirut. It is now up to the Lebanese people to decide whether to accept it.

We appreciate @RepJoshG's continued leadership in opposing Ireland’s proposed Occupied Territories Bill. This boycott legislation applies a blatant double standard to Israel, singling out the world’s only Jewish state for punitive treatment. Far from promoting peace, it deepens divisions, undermines economic cooperation, and creates commercial uncertainty for American businesses operating in Ireland. Irish lawmakers must reject this discriminatory legislation.
In October, I led a bipartisan letter urging Ireland not to move forward with its Occupied Territories Bill, an anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) measure. I was encouraged when the bill was shelved. Surprisingly, it's now scheduled to be debated this week. Let's be clear about what this bill is: a one-sided measure that singles out Israel while ignoring territorial disputes everywhere else in the world. And, it could come with a real cost. U.S. companies in Ireland could be forced to choose between complying with Irish law and complying with anti-boycott laws in thirty-eight American states. I continue to stand with my colleagues in urging them to withdraw the bill. irishexaminer.com/news/polit…
