ALT The Dolgarrog Hydo power station in village of the same name in the Conway valley. The power station is now owned and run by RWE N Power, though it was originally built in 1907 to provide electricity for an Aluminum smelting plant and rolling mills. The aluminum factory closed in 2007 and was demolished in 2009. ALT Colas Rail Deisel locomotive Class 37 No.37099 named 'Merl Evans 1947-2016' has just passed Llandudno Junction station at the head of an ultrasonic test train. The train started from Bangor in North Wales and is returning to Derby, conducting tests on the track below the carriages as it goes. The train came from Derby the day before and stabled over night in Bangor. On the rear of the train is another class 37 locomotive, no 37422 owned by HNRC Swietelsky and carries a distinctive half orange and half blue livery. ALT Transport for Wales, TFW, train no 197003 travels alongside the River Conway valley towards Tal -y - Cafn Station in in North Wales. The service it is working is the 16.10 hrs train from Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog. The road that crosses the railway here on a level crossing is the B5279 and just beyond this level crossing is the Tal -y – Cafn bridge, the first crossing point of the River Conwy outside of the town of Conwy itself. The river Conwy is 34 miles long, discharging into the Irish sea. It is tidal past Tal - y - Cafn up to Llanrwst. This railway line runs up the east side of the Conwy valley from Llandudno junction and the North Wales main line to Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is mainly a single-track rural branch line. Tal -y - Cafn station is a request stop, meaning passengers need to tell the guard if they want to get off, or signal the driver to stop if they want to board the train. ALT 60028 under the loader at Penmaenmawr 9.6.2026 Cappagh Group locomotive no 60028 is at the head of a stone train waiting to be loaded at Penmaenmawr on the North Wales coast on Tuesday 9.6.2026. Once the train is loaded it will have around 2000 tonnes of stone with in the wagons that has come from the nearby quarry. According to Real Times Trains the train, once loaded was due to leave here as the 14.54 hrs service to Leyland under Headcode or train reporting no 6N91. However, that got cancelled and the train was rescheduled as the 19.53 to the HS2 railhead at Quainton in Buckinghamshire where the stone will be unloaded and be used on the construction of HS2. DCR is DC Rail, a rail freight company providing mainly bulk services for construction, energy and manufacturing across the UK. The locomotive, 60028 carries distinctive blue livery of the Cappagh Group who own it though it is operated by DC Rail It is running under the head code or train reporting no 6A26. 9.6.2

ALT In the rain, Steam 60532 Bamber Bridge 3.6.2026 Steam locomotive no 60532 “Blue Peter” has just passed under the M6 motorway to the east of Bamber Bridge near Preston 3.6.2026. The train it is hauling is the “Settle and Carlisle Fellesman” operated by Saphos Trains excursion train from Crewe to Carlisle via the Settle and Carlisle railway line. The train is running under headcode or train reporting no 1Z45. The train left Crewe at 07.26 hrs arriving Carlisle at 13.28 hrs. ALT Sandy ng loco waiting its next trip at Astley 18.5.2026 Cw 9378 “Sandy” presumably named as it used to work on the Pilkington’s sand railway in the Rainford and Bickerstaff area of south west Lancashire. It is a 4-ton Simplex engine that is now preserved at the Astley mining museum near Astley just off the East Lancashire Road. Here it awaits its next turn of duty at the 2026 Steam Rally when the 2-foot narrow gauge railway was in use giving rides around the site. ALT LSL “Locomotive Services Group” diesel locomotive’s no 37667 and 37521 approach Balshaw Lane junction on the West Coast Main Line in Lancashire on 15.5.26. Both of these class 37’s have recently been repainted into a lined black livery at Arlington Fleet services in Eastleigh in Hampshire. ALT Transport for Wales locomotive 67012 pushes a train towards Shrewsbury passing the old station at Condover between Church Stretton and Shrewsbury. The train is the 08.53 service from Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly, running under train reporting no 1W55. The line from Newport up to Shrewsbury and on to Crewe is known as the Welsh Marches line after the towns and countryside it passes through. The station at Condover was closed in 1958 with the station buildings still being here and the site is now a cattery and kennels, though the platforms are long gone.
