BREAKING: Preprint from our first in human clinical trial now live.
In this triple blind, randomized controlled pilot study, Microtesla Magnetic Therapy (MMT) was evaluated in participants with moderate to severe cognitive impairment from Long Covid, as determined by a neuropsychological battery demonstrating objective impairment. MMT had an excellent safety profile and was associated with sustained, clinically meaningful improvements across cognitive domains including attention, processing speed, and memory, as well as mood.
These findings add to a growing body of evidence that targeting neuroinflammation and oxidative stress may help restore cognitive function after infection related injury and other brain pathologies.
We are grateful to the investigators
@PutrinoLab and Dr. Jackie Becker, the extended Mount Sinai team, and the study participants.
This is an important first clinical step for a new class of noninvasive, biophysics based therapies designed to restore brain function. We are rapidly advancing toward larger trials to validate and scale this approach to the millions of people with inadequate treatment options.
