As #HealTheWorld, we are honored to participate in this dialogue and share our commitment to mental health support and awareness. Based on our experience, we know that when mental health care is integrated into our workplaces, homes, and communities, both personal well-being and social development follow. We are also deeply grateful to @KarongiDistr for this wonderful initiative to strengthen mental health in the workplace. @Y_Advocates @umuhozaPascasi2 @GeraldMuzungu @RBCRwanda @Ember_mh @ARuhuka

Today we commemorate World Environment Day #WED2026 , where we recognize that a healthy environment is directly linked to good nutrition. Trees and ecosystems are making food for us by providing fruits, nuts, and supporting soil fertility for crops. They also absorb carbon, reduce climate change, conserve water, protect soil, improve air quality, and support biodiversity. This strengthens food security and healthier diets for families and children. Protecting nature means protecting our nutrition, health, and future generations through sustainable environmental stewardship and resilience.

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting with @Mparirwa, Director of Strategic Projects Implementation at @BRDbank , to discuss potential areas of collaboration and share insights about our Entrepreneurial Design Fellowship (#EDF) Program, including preparations for EDF Cohort 4. The discussion provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and skills development, and to explore ways of strengthening pathways that support young people from ideation to practical, community-based solutions. We are grateful for the insightful guidance and constructive feedback shared during the meeting, which will help shape and strengthen the future impact of the EDF program. We look forward to continued engagement and potential collaboration aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and contributing to sustainable development in Rwanda. #TICO #EDFProgram #YouthEmpowerment #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #SkillsDevelopment #Partnerships #Rwanda

Proud moment for STEPS Initiative and our Founder, Alain Nshimiyimana, as STEPS Awareness is recognized for breaking stigma around mental health and substance use, promoting help-seeking, education, and driving real community impact through media, schools, and outreach. đź’™
STEPS Awareness, led by Alain Nshimiyimana, is a community and youth-focused initiative aimed at breaking stigma around mental health and substance use disorders while promoting a culture of seeking help instead of judgment. It targets adolescents and the wider community through awareness and education. The initiative uses media partnerships with ISHUSHO TV, RBA, and ISHYA to air monthly TV shows, delivering 46 episodes in 2025. It also runs NITWEBIREBA drug abuse awareness clubs in 35 high schools and at the IWAWA Rehabilitation Center, alongside 56 community awareness events to strengthen outreach and education. #iAccelerator7

Yesterday, our Executive Director and Vice Chairperson of the Youth Advocate Network (YAN), @RwikazaGentil , had the honor of representing YAN at the soft launch of the Joint Fruit Tree Planting Initiative, organized as part of the @unicefrw 40 Years celebrations. The initiative, led in partnership with UNICEF Rwanda, the @EnvironmentRw , the Ministry of Education, @OneAcreFund Rwanda, and other partners, aims to plant fruit trees in over 4,800 primary schools across Rwanda contributing to greener learning environments, better nutrition for children, and stronger climate resilience. The event brought together key leaders and partners, including the UNICEF Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, Ms. @EvaUNICEF , to strengthen collective action toward environmental conservation and a sustainable future for children and communities in Rwanda.
