Deeply saddened by today’s announcement that Dundee University’s Botanical Gardens will close. For generations, this beautiful space has been a place of learning, tranquillity, and connection with nature. A real loss for Dundee, its students, researchers, and artists.

Important article from @claire_ob1 about the worrying implications of a "trans inclusive" conversion therapy ban which could see parents prosecuted for talking to their children about "gender identity". mol.im/a/15908455 via @DailyMail

The Edinburgh Book Festival has clearly not learned its lesson from last year, when it excluded the Women Who Wouldn't Wheesht book. This year, it will platform Nicola Sturgeon, who brought forward dangerous gender reforms, her former Chief of Staff, and of course, Q Manivannan, who believes that biological males should have automatic access to women's spaces. So much for diversity of thought 🙄 heraldscotland.com/news/2619…

🔊Instead of inviting the Taliban to international meetings , Taliban leaders should be questioned and held accountable. By what right have they deprived millions of Afghan women and girls of education, employment, and their most basic human rights? Please don't forget afghans women 🙏

After the BBC revelations this week about the extent of pimping of women on OnlyFans, many people have re-assessed their understanding of OnlyFans and no longer see it as a harmless and easy way for women to make money. It therefore seems like a good time to reshare our petition calling on the DWP to end its policy of treating self-employment on OnlyFans as essentially no different from self-employment as a hair dresser or plumber – meaning that JobCentres are coercing women to increase their OnlyFans income with the threat of sanctions and loss of benefit if they don’t comply. Link to the petition in the next tweet.

How can anyone in their right mind spend more than 10 seconds deciding if a man who’s pretending to be a woman, who has a history of sexual assault against women, should be put in a woman’s prison! This contempt for women is extraordinary
This should not be a difficult decision and NO is a full sentence.

One day after the U.S. signed a deal with the Islamic Republic، the regime in Iran, handed Parastoo Ahmadi 74 lashes for singing on YouTube. They call America the Great Satan. And then they flew to the table and signed a deal with the «Devil«. But a woman’s voice scared them more than any superpower ever could. A regime that whips women for showing their hair and singing, there’s not a normal government. This is called apartheid against women.

Please read the FWS judgment at Supreme Court before speaking on this matter again - better still ask @ForWomenScot to explain it to you. EQA 2010 has been clarified by their April 2025 Supreme Court Judgment so why on earth would you want to replace it??

There are fashions with which you may agree or disagree. The current fashion for numerous large tattoos, for instance. Some people like them, others hate them. In the UK it is illegal to tattoo someone under the age of 18. Why? Because minors often lack the maturity to make permanent decisions about their bodies, as tastes and preferences frequently change before reaching adulthood. How about elective double mastectomies — that is, surgical removal of the breasts without any pathology? For girls to have their breasts amputated is apparently perfectly fine, presented as marvelous by companies such as Lush and organisations such as Amnesty, which publish images of surgical scars in celebratory mode. There is no conceivable justification for this macabre misogynistic campaign. Girls aged 16 and even younger are undergoing elective mastectomies in numerous places such as certain US states. In the UK the legal minimum age for this type of surgery is 18, but some private clinics assess girls aged 16. Mastectomies are sometimes medically necessary. Those concerned often find this loss traumatic. Giving girls the idea that an elective mastectomy is a joyful thing - reinforcing a negative body image - is absolutely disgusting.

We’re working our way through this harrowing Rape Gang Inquiry Report and will comment in more depth soon. But for now, we just want to say that no girl in the UK should ever have been subjected to such depraved sexual assault and torture while organisations, the police, and our government turned a blind eye. The fact that adults who were responsible for protecting those girls not only failed catastrophically but actually covered it up is beyond words. We note the inclusion at the start of the report that “Scottish political parties have refused a dedicated inquiry and failed to record offender ethnicity.” We welcome more investigation into this in Scotland. Girls deserve better. All of them.

What a travesty it is that academic, Michael Foran, until recently of Glasgow University, who has just written the definitive work on Sex, Gender, Identity and the Law is not appearing on any platforms at the Edinburgh Book Festival. Inclusivity is such a narrow concept for them.

So, we disagree with Tanya-Jayne’s piece. People agree we need to stop medicalising children and let women have single-sex spaces and sports - this includes the public, Lib Dem members and Lib Dem voters. Please join us or support our work here: (end) liberalvoiceforwomen.org/joi…

Ditto. This is an insult to millions of women who lost their breasts to cancer .
Dear Lush (cc Chelmsford City Council), As a woman who had half a breast removed last year due to cancer, I am writing to raise my concerns about your “Proud of My Stripes” window display. I am also, on behalf of other women who have experienced breast cancer, respectfully requesting its removal. Because mastectomies are not a fashion statement, an identity marker or something to be celebrated. They are something women undergo because they are ill, because they are frightened, because they are trying to stay alive. Around 59,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. Many will undergo surgery - a mastectomy, lumpectomy or other procedure. Others choose preventive mastectomies because they carry a high-risk BRCA gene mutation. If a woman chooses to have her breasts removed to affirm a gender identity, that is her personal choice. I honestly don’t know the number of women who have elective mastectomies for this reason. What I do know is that it is a tiny number compared with those for whom breast surgery is medically necessary and not something to be celebrated. I think I speak for many women who have experienced breast cancer - and for their families - when I say this: Breast removal surgery is not something I regard as cute, playful or empowering. Nor is it something I believe retailers should be celebrating. For that reason, I am requesting that the display be removed and that @ChelmsCouncil apologise for promoting it on social media. Yours sincerely, Janet Murray

Why does an organisation that lobbies for biological males to drive a cart & horses through womens sex based spaces receive just shy of £4 million pounds whilst womens groups only get the small change? It appears misogyny writ large? @DrPamGosal @Daily_Record @ForWomenScot
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish Govt gives £3.9million of taxpayer money to the org Scottish Trans over the past decade. Scottish Trans then fund a lobbying campaign for MSPs to oppose the @EHRC guidance on access to single sex spaces. We note women's groups haven't received £ millions. Nor have groups providing support to detranstioners received £ millions. dailymail.com/news/article-1…
