Great to hear about the @LeapLambeth @GSTTnhs caseloading team and the impact of #CoC on underserved communities at #RCMEdRes2022: reduction in pre-term birth, CS, NNU admission. Reduction of EmCS from 50% in traditional to 5% in CoC for women who need interpreters! @kingshealth

230 babies a year die from SIDS in the UK – that’s 4 babies a week. Since the Back to Sleep Campaign in 1991 it has decreased by 82%. Ensure the parents you work with are aware of the safer sleep advice - together we can do this @LullabyTrust #SaferSleepWeek #HealthVisiting

Lovely to hear @CatMcKinnell call for a cross-departmental strategy to halt child poverty. And echoed by @timloughton calling for a joined-up approach in children's social care. @first1001days @AndreaLeadsom bbc.co.uk/iplayer/live/bbcpa…

Thank you @TimLoughton for giving detailed examples of the impact early years has on later life and the type of parents we grow up to be. It illustrated the range of factors those of us campaigning for the first #1001days are campaigning for.

@CatMcKinnell Petition's Committee chair - If we truly want to give every child the best start in life, we must tackle poverty. 'Real children living in real hardship'. Babies born in the most deprived areas are twice as likely to be stillborn. @CommonsBBCom

Human beings are unique in the extent of their underdevelopment at birth. A baby is utterly vulnerable to his/her earliest experiences. Proud to be advocating, with @barnardos @NSPCC @ChildrensComm and @LGAcomms for #BestStartforLife for EVERY baby @first1001days 👶🏻

If we miss opportunities to support families facing adversity during a child’s early years, those children are less likely to achieve their full potential. Read our evidence brief on the economic case for investing in babies: parentinfantfoundation.org.u…

The NICE guidance suggests women of colour may be less able to safely carry babies to term. Of course this is ridiculous. There are have worse health outcomes because of inequalities & racism. It is these things we need to tackle - systems & structures - not individual choices.
Today is the last day to fill out your comments as an individual or organisation on the draft NICE guidance which proposes that Black and Brown women should be induced at 39 weeks, even if they are completely healthy #NotSoNice nice.org.uk/guidance/indevel…

Follow the data, invest in midwives. The incredible work of the LEAP Midwifery Caseload Team makes a difference for women and babies in our south London patch. They are based in the local children's centre and cover the full pathway @GSTTnhs @LeapLambeth
