Takeaways:
- It is a people game. It always comes down to the people you can inspire to work on a vision with you.
- "You will feel if you have PMF". If you ask yourself if you have already found PMF, you probably haven’t.
- Mintlify: You might need to pivot 100 times, but if you just don’t die, you will find the right project, and then it will hit!
- Mintlify & Harj: A great co-founder is like a superpower.
- Emmett Shear: Build things that you genuinely love to use yourself and that you can find 5 other people that are also obsessed with using it.
- If you can’t find 10 people that absolutely love a product and that spread it everywhere, how do you want to convince 1k, 100k, or 1M people?
General about YC:
- Make something people want. It sounds so simple but is actually very hard for most people to understand. Instead of trying to understand which tricks to use to increase retention, you should build a product that people can’t stop using.
- The partners actually care for each founder, visitor, company, user, ANYONE.
- They take the time to just talk to you and spend two hours deep diving into a topic.
@snowmaker @harjtaggar
- You can just go up to a YC partner and ask for help on a problem you have, and they are more than welcome to help you.
- Some YC founders took the YC deal way past the “YC stage“ and said it was the best decision of their life. “You don’t do YC for the money, but everything else it has to offer.“
- Move to the Bay Area. This is the place to be.
