Advancing Drone Technologies for Fisheries & Women Empowerment
The Department of Fisheries, Government of India, with technical support from ICAR-CIFRI, is advancing drone technologies for live fish transport—marking a major innovation in the fisheries sector.
In this context, Jatiya Mahila Matsyajibi Diwas 2025 was celebrated on 26 December 2025 at Kultali, Sundarban, West Bengal. The programme was organised by ICAR-CIFRI in collaboration with National Fisheries Development Board and Kultali Milon Tirtha Society, with a strong focus on women empowerment and sustainable fisheries livelihoods.
The event was inaugurated by the DDG (Fisheries), ICAR, along with senior officials from ICAR-CIFRI and NFDB.

•Distribution of fish fingerlings and fish feed
